COURSE DESCRIPTIONThis fast-paced review focuses on assessment and acute treatment of psychiatric problems in all settings. The course uses brief lectures, workshops, simulated patient video case examples and extensive faculty intervention to maximize clinical practice relevance. The course is both stimulating and enjoyable. 100% of participants the past four years have rated the course as a positive learning experience. This year the course will be offering pharmacology specific continuing education.
COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVESUpon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
• Analyze and apply strategies for the treatment of unipolar depression
• Describe evidence based options for the treatment of bipolar depression
• Describe strategies for assessment and intervention in those at risk for suicide

DATE AND LOCATIONThe Mayo Clinic Acute Care Psychiatry Clinical Review course will be held September 18-20, 2014. Course headquarters will be located at The Venetian | The Palazzo, 3355 S. Las Vegas Boulevard, Las Vegas, Nevada.
