• As our production is a period drama, sourcing the right costumes to look authentic was important.

• The first costume is the one for our main character Marianne, we chose this empire line white dress with a floral skirt as it portrayed the personality of the character that we wanted to display to the audience, we felt it represented the characters innocence and simplicity, and also shows how she is from a poorer background and cannot afford fabrics like silk, like Elizabeth.

• The next costume for the character of Charlotte is this mint green empire line dress, with a brown and cream wrap, we chose this as we felt the pastel mint green represented the characters personality again, as it is subtle and elegant, the cream and brown wrap also tones down the outfit and makes her look more middle class as opposed to upper class.

• The pink empire line dress we chose for the Elizabeth the fiancé, displays the wealth and luxury of her personality and shows that she is  a woman of higher class, who is able to afford luxurious fabrics like silk, in colours that would have suggested higher class such as pink.

• We chose traditional Georgian dress for the main male character Arthur as we wanted to make the film look as authentic as possible. We chose a black double breasted dress coat with tails, with a waistcoat and dress trousers, as this shows that the character is upper class. We chose a cream and blue striped cravat as it we felt it toned well with the white and floral dress that Marianne wears, and added colour to the outfit.
