To My Brother Today is full of memories of a Brother laid to rest

And every single one of them is filled with happiness. For you were someone special always such a joy to know

And there was so much pain when it was time to let you go. That’s why this special message is sent to Heaven above for the angels to take

care of you and give you all my love. Love, Bill

To My Nephew

Of all the many blessings However great or small

To have had you for a nephew Was the greatest one of all.

The family chain is broken now And nothing seems the same

But as God takes us one by one The chain will link again.

Love, Aunt Doll

To My Brother-In-Law Those special memories of you will always bring a smile if only I could

have you back for just a little while Then we could sit and talk again just like we used to do You always meant so very much and always will do too

The fact that you’re no longer here will always cause me pain but you’re forever in my heart until we meet again.

Love, Renee’

To Our Uncle in Heaven Although you sleep in Heaven now

You’re not that far away My heat is full of memories And you’re with me everyday

You lived your life with meaning And with a smile upon your face

A world that was full of happiness Is now an empty place

People say that only time Will heal a broken heart But just like me and you

It has been torn apart I know you are at peace now

And in a place where you are free Meet me at the Pearly Gates When Heaven calls for me.

Love, Your nieces & nephews

The Obituary

Marcus Durwood Cunningham “Mark” was born October 5, 1950 to the parentage of the late Marvin and Wergena

Christian Cunningham in Winnsboro, Texas.

He united with Hynson Chapel C.M.E Church at an early age. He attended P.L. Dunbar Elementary and Winnsboro High

School. He graduated in the class of 1969.

Upon graduation Mark enrolled into the United States Army where he was stationed in Louisberg, Germany. He served his

country for four years.

After the Army, Mark moved to Dallas, TX where he worked for the Roger Snapp Printing Company. In 1991 he moved back to Winnsboro and became a devoted caregiver to his precious nephew William Bruce Belt which he took care of

until his health failed. Mark was a very sweet man who would give you the clothes off his back. He was always

willing to lend a helping hand. He will be dearly missed.

Mark passed away Sunday, October 13, 2019 in Winnsboro, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Virginia Cunningham and Barbara Belt; brothers David, Ray, and

Thomas Cunningham; and sister-in-law Marilyn Joyce Kelly. He leaves to cherish his memories: brother William Kelly of

Hephzibah, GA; aunt Dorothy Spelmon of Fort Worth, TX; sister-in-law Renee Cunningham of Kilgore, TX; four nieces

Dr. Jocelyn Renee Kelly-Bayliss, Christi Smith, Teniqua Simmons, and Jessica Cunningham-James; three nephews

William Bruce Belt, Kelvin Kelly, Lyle Bursey, and a host of other relatives and friends. Special thanks to all who served

as Mark’s caregivers.

The Final Flight

Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free, I’m following the path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard his call,

I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day, To laugh, to love, to work, to play.

Tasks left undone must stay that way, I’ve found that peace at the end of the day.

If my parting has left a void,

Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ah, yes, these things too I will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My Life’s been full, I savored much,

Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me, God wanted me now, He set me free.

Precious Memories

Come to Me

God saw you were getting tired, And a cure was not to be.

So, He put His arms around you, And whispered, “Come to me,”

With tearful eyes we watched you, And saw you pass away.

Although we loved you dearly, We could not make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands at rest.

God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
