He appeared for NDA written exam on 19 April 2015 and had gone for SSB at Allahabad which he cleared. School played a vital role in enhancing his personality as he is an average student in academics. Principal and teachers continuously motivated him a lot and kindled the spark present in him to illuminate his career. Classmates encouraged him to speak in English to improve his communication skill. He was given flexible timings to attend his coaching for SSB and was supported in aspects by Principal and teaching staff. He has also been given full support in terms of use of library and issue of books related to NDA. Along with this he also attended special NDA sessions organized by the school. He also attended session at HQ 42 InfBde. Rahul Negi on recommendation by the school joined coaching of SSB at NDA Career Institute at Vasant Vihar and was given monetary concession by Col Rana on special recommendation by the school. APS Birpur Student Rahul Negi Cracks NDA/SSB

Rahul Negi s/o HavNarendra S Negi student of XII Science is part of this school since 29 May

2007 and he took admission in class IV. He appeared for NDA written exam on 19 April 2015

and had gone for SSB at Allahabad which he cleared. School played a vital role in enhancing his

personality as he is an average student in academics. Principal and teachers continuously

motivated him a lot and kindled the spark present in him to illuminate his career. Classmates

encouraged him to speak in English to improve his communication skill. He was given flexible

APS Birpur was represented by a team of students, namely Ravinder Singh (Cl-XI), Bipin Singh

(Cl-XII) & Ravi Kumar (Cl-XII). The quiz was conducted in two stages, Preliminary & Final stage.

Having recd tough competition from 27 schools the APS, Birpur team moved on to the final six

consisting of RIMC, Brightlands, Summer Valley, Wynberg Allen & Oak Grove Mussoorie. APS

Birpur was declared winner with 100 pts after a stiff resistance in a series of 15 rd in finals,

with scorching topic from Current Affairs, Reasoning, History, Def, National Security, Science

& Tech, Audio- Visual, Ask & Quit, Do or Die, Audio-video & the Buzzer Rd.In a glittering

ceremony the prestigious Megar Cup was lifted by school team along with the team mentor

MrsNeetu Kant Uniyal. It was the proud moment for the school that for the first time ever

school has participated in an event of such magnitude & emerged as winners among the top

schools of the country.

8th Aug 2015 Inter School Milestone Quiz 2015. The students of APS Birpur

have again proved their excellence in the field of quiz as well by securing First position by

beating 22 other schools. The event was conducted at St. George School Mussoorie on 8th

Aug 2015. Ravinder Singh – XI A and Bipin Singh – XII B accompanied by the mentor

MrsNeetuUniyal, the students displayed the knowledge in the multiple fields including

history, economy, current events, International events etc.

Master .RajatShukla of class XI reached semifinal round of Zee Singing

star to be held in Mumbai.

APSBirpur won Inter School Hindi Debate competition held at DAV Inter

College, Karanpur, Dehradun

Two students, VaibhavBenjwal (XI) and Nisha Joshi (X) participated in the Inter School

Hindi Debate competition held at DAV Inter College, Karanpur, Dehradun on 17 Aug

2015. The students won the first prize in both the categories (for and against) and

uplifted the overall championship trophy. The mentor of the team was MrsAnjul;aBaluni.

HQ 2 Corps English & Hindi debate

The English and Hindi Debate teams proceeded to APS ChandiMandir to participate in the HQ

2 Corps English & Hindi Debate Competitions on 15th Oct. Ravinder Singh of the English Debate

was adjudged the third best speaker. Both the teams won the overall third position in their

respective categories.

On 8th Oct the school was represented by ten students in various competitions held at ICFAI

University, Selaqui . Of the 15 participating schools our school was able to bag the overall

second position and individual prizes in nearly all the competitions.

Event Organised by USP

Ravinder Singh got the “Best Debater” trophy at the event held by USP where around 300+

students participated.

Inter School Quiz

HQ2 corps Inter School Quiz Competition was held at APS Nahan on 31st Oct 2015. The

School Quiz team comprising Ravinder XI A, Bipin Singh XII B and AsawariWalkade X A

represented the school in the competition. The team stood runners up.

Inter School Hindi Debate Competition

VaibhavBenjwal XI C and KishanKhandwal XI A represented the school in the Inter

School Hindi Debate Competition held at Cambrain Hall on 31st Oct 2015. KishanKhandwal

secured the second position in the individual category and the team bagged the overall

second position.

On 6th Nov Information Regarding State Level-Painting Competition

About 3 lakhs students participated in Energy Conservation organized by Ministry of Power –

„BEE‟(Beareu of Energy Efficiency) ,in which 100 students were selected which were divided

into 50 students from each category A(4th, 5th and 6th ) and category B (7th , 8th & 9th )

in Uttrakhand State level Painting & Competition held at THDC, Patalipuram, NatrajChowk in

Rishikesh, where ShivangChauhan bagged the consolation prize of worth Rs 5500/- . the

prize also includes 1 bag. The painting would be going to National Level Painting Competition .

State /National level Quiz competition by IMS Unison University, Dehradun

Our School quiz team also participated in State level Quiz Competition organized by IMS

Unison University, Dehradun on 26 Nov 2015. Our team comprising following students

stood first in City round and clenched the Champion Trophy. The same team participated

in the state level round which was organized in IMS Unison University, where also our

team stood first.

Quiz competition held at RAMAKRISHNA MISSION RAJPUR - 1 dec

Ravinder Singh of XI A stood third in the quiz competition held at Ramakrishna Mission

Rajpur.45 eminent schools participated in the quiz where our students stood third. They won

prizes and trophies.

Navy Quiz 2nd DEC 15

Students of our school quiz team participated in the Inter School Navy Quiz held at National

Hydrography Office, Rajpur Road on 2nd Dec 15. The school was represented by Ravinder Singh

and Himanshu Singh of class XI A. Having faced tough competition from few eminent

participating schools of Dehradun , the team succeeded in securing the second position.

SCHOOL QUIZ LEAGUE 4TH DEC 15

The school team comprising Vaibhav Benjwal and Ravinder Singh, participated in the country

level School Quiz League after clearing the city and later the state round which was held at

IMS Unison University. The country level round was organized in Gyanshree School,Noida,

where our team stood third. They were awarded trophies and cash prizes worth Rs. 10,000.

VIRASAT SADHANA –Competetion5th – 10 th DEC 15.

On an invitation extended by Reach Foundation, The students of our school participated in

various activities held at Virasat Fest at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Stadium from 5th- 13th Dec.

Ina glittering ceremony, held on 13thDec, Kanika Dausani (second in vocal)and Shivang

Chauhan(third in painting comp )were awarded prizes and certificates.

CBSE Heritage Quiz

On the 6th Jan 2016 the school team comprising Vaibhav Benjwaj, Ravinder Singh and

Bipin Singh represented the school in CBSE HERITAGE QUIZ DEHRADUN REGION and bagged

first position Thereafter they represented Dehradun Region in the semifinals of the CBSE

Heritage Quiz held at Delhi and stood fourth nationally.

Republic Day Camp –PM RALLY Three students alongwith ANO Mrs Durga Thapa attended RD Camp at Delhi. They

were a part of the PM rally too.

1 Priya Negi IX D ,2 Simran Bhatt X C, 3 Sarthak Gurung XA alongwith School ANO were

amongst the 103 cadets who represented Uttarakhand at Republic Parade Delhi.

Miss Priya Negi was the main briefer for the entire parade. The Students during their stay at

the camp interacted with all the eminent personalities i.e Chief of Army Staff, Prime Minister

of India ,Defence Minister of India .They also interacted with MD AWES. Altogether there

were 48 NCC Cadets from different APS‟s of India where APS Birpur had maximum selected

candidate of 3 along with school ANO Mrs DurgaThapa.

The NCC Cadets were highly appreciated by all for their performance.

All India Essay Writing Event 2015

Two students Priyanka Rawat and Neha Bisht of class XI received the merit

certificate in the All India Essay Writing Event 2015 organized by the Shri Ram Chandra

Mission in collaboration with the United Nations Information Center for India and

Bhutan.

(a)School basketball girls team won the silver medal in the HQ 2 Corps basketball

competition held at Dagshai on 4th Sept,15

(b)Harish (XI), Deepak (XII)and Parkash(XI) have been selected in Uttrakhand team

for National Basketball tournament held at Gujarat

Badminton The School badminton team participated in the HQ 2 Corps Badminton Competition

held at APS Ambala from 5th – 7th Oct. Our Students represented the school in all

five categories and were winner in one and runner up in two categories. The details of

COMMAND LEVEL BADMINTON COMPETITION

Susan Thapa XI A of our school represented the 2 Corp in the Command Level Badminton

Competition held at APS Pathankot from 15th – 17th Oct. He reached the finals and stood Runner

Up.

Boxing

(a) On 11 May 2015 ,Archana Thapa and Mamta Mahar participated in the Capt Hari

Singh Thapa District Level Boxing championship in the junior and senior category.

Both brought laurels to the school by winning gold medals. Archana Thapa was also

adjudged the best boxer in her category

(b) Boxing trial for participation in state boxing championship was conducted at Parade

ground.23 students of our school attended the trial. 7 out of 23 were selected

and further participated in the State Boxing Championship held at Pauri from 12 to

17 Aug 2015. The team represented District Dehradun and won 1 Gold, 2 Silver

and 5 Bronze medals..

(c) District Boxing championship was held at parade ground on 25 Feb to 26 Feb 2016

,17 students of APS Birpur took part in the this championship 3 gold, 3 silver and 9

bronze were bagged by students under different categories.

(a)The School football team participated in the HQ 2 core Football Competition held

at APS Patiala on 27 – 28 Aug 2015 .The tournament was conducted on a league cum knock

out basis. The teams were initially divided into two pools. Pool A had APS Ambala, APS

Chandimandir, APS Patiala and APS Birpur Pool B had teams of APS Sangrur. APS Nahan,

APS Dagshai and APS Clement Town.

Having beaten APS Ambala and APS Chandimandir in the league matches, our team moved

to the top of their pool. They defeated APS Dagshai in the semifinals and lost to APS

Clement Town in the finals. The students were awarded the runner up trophy at the end

of the

(b)Shri Hari Parkash Bansal Memorial Interschool Football Tournament at

DevBhoomi Group Institute of Technology

School football team participated in Shri Hari Parkash Bansal Memorial Interschool Football

Tournament at Dev Bhoomi Group Institute of Technology Dehradun on 5th Oct 2015 to 6th Oct

2015 and stood second. Goalkeeper Vikas of Class XI B was adjudged as the best Goalkeeper

of the tournament and Resham of XI C as “Best Player of the Tournament”. The participants

were Vikas Khanderi XI B, Dilip Rana XII B, Krisna Bahadur XI B, Resham Bahadur Rana XI C,

Bharat Kumar X A, Milan Thapa XI C, Attit Thapa XI C, Jiwan Kumar Rawal XII B, Sumit Bisht

X A, Himal Thapa XI C and Shib Bahadur Thapa XI C. They bagged a runners up trophy along

with a cash prize of Rs 5000/-.

(c)In ONGC football tournament our team reached semifinals. School student

Milan was adjudged as the “ Man of the Tournament”

Golf

Jasbeer Singh Rathi of class X won third position in the Uttarakhand Sub Area Golf

Tournament held at DSOI. The tournament saw the representation From FRI, IMA, ONGC and

ONGC in the junior category.

TAEKWONDO

32 students from various classes of APS Birpur participated in 13th State Inter School

Taekwondo Championship held at Shri Guru Nanak boys inter college dehradun on 23rd

Aug 2015. APS Birpur bagged overall second position with 11 Gold,12 silver and 4 Bronze

medals. The team was prepared by Mr Sunny Sharma Taekwondo instructor.

Our student Archana Thapa bagged 5th position in cross country race.
