    Erected traffic lights to reduce congestion atChitukuko, Bwandilo, Lilongwe Hotel, area 3/ Kamuzuprocession road junction, Lilongwe Technical Collegeand Lilongwe bridge, Natures Sanctuary and NicoCentre junction in Lilongwe , Limbe Police junction,Stanbic Limbe branch intersection and Soche/ MountPleasant junction in Blantyre and Katoto Fillingstation junction in Mzuzu. Traffic lights in Zomba andCross roads junction in Mzuzu including Mchesi/ M1

    junction in Lilongwe have just been installed.

    Procured 113 scholar patrol equipments that wasdonated to Ministry of education Procured 2 emergency rescue ambulances and

    donated to Traffic Police Procured & donated three saloon highway traffic

    patrol vehicles to Malawi Police Service Procured and donated four speed traps and six

    Launched the Road safety awareness &enforcement month that was done jointly with

    Traffic Police and Road Traffic Directorate thatsaw accident reduced from 1027 people killed in2005 to 921 killed in 2006 representing a 28%decrease. A similar programme started on 10December 2007 and ended on 3 January 2008with a 13% reduction in December 07

    Trained 12000 drivers and 3000 motorcyclist indefensive driving.
