Unit 505 Board of DirectorsUnit 505 Board of Directors
I have one of those both happy and sad bits of news to pass along. Beth Mora, who has been the publisher of the Kibitzer and our webmaster for the last ten years is retiring. Even though Beth is not a bridge player, she has managed to find her way into the hearts of the many who have served on the board of Unit 505. Beth is a warm, caring person who always attends our unit board meetings and frequently adds a little common sense when needed. Beth made it a point of attending our News Years Eve bridge shindig in Shingle Springs every year and immortalized it with a big group photo for the Kibitzer, which went out the next day. But sometimes there comes a point in life when a change is needed and Beth heard the call. So she is closing her company, Mora Beyond Marketing, and resigning her other job at her church. Going forward, she plans to do more traveling and see more of the world. We are going to miss you hugely Beth! And then there is the problem of how do we fill her shoes . . . The board will meet August 11th before the Unit Game at SBC . . . Members suggestions are welcomed for consideration. Congratulations to our board Treasurer, Diane Strategos on becoming a Life Master!

Life Master Pairs update - Daily Bulletin, Tuesday, July 23, 2019 Winners of the von Zedtwitz Life Master Pairs: Vince DeMuy and Brad Moss. Moss and DeMuy won the event, lost it and won it again as scoring corrections were reported after the results came out. At the time the event concluded Sunday night, they were believed to be the winners, but when official results came out hours later, they had dropped to second. Then further scoring correc-tions reported Monday brought them back on top, putting announced winners Ed Nagy and Gary Soules in second. No appeals affected the outcome of the event.

As most of you know, our Sat games at SBC are growing like a wild fire! For a very long time the Sat open was 3 to 5 tables. The 299er game started with 3 tables. As of mid-July the games have been 8 to 10 in the open game and 8 to 10 in the 299er game. For three weeks in a row we have had 19 tables!
Ali, John and Joy want to thank all of you for supporting these games and for helping us grow into games we are so proud of.
We also give kudos to Albert for
making this game a charity game which gives you
many more points.
This is good team-work between you
as the players, management, and
your directors.
Let's just keep it going!!!
