ForewordThe Higher Secondary Education (+2 stage) in the State of
Assam is imparted by Degree Colleges, Junior Colleges and bythe Higher Secondary Schools. The Colleges follow the holiday listand academic time schedule as per specified manner of theirrespective Universities. The High Schools upgraded to HigherSecondary Schools follow the schedule as prescribed by SEBA.This creates confusion among the teachers as well as the studentsof Secondary and Higher Secondary stage regarding the academicscedule.
To bring the uniformity in the academic activities in the HSSchools and Junior Colleges imparting HS Course, as well asendeavour to increase the number of teaching days, the Council hasproposed this Academic Calendar for the session 2013-2014. It ishoped that Institutions imparting HS Courses under the academiccontrol of AHSEC will follow the activities as per this calendar intrue spirit.
The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council has published"Model Questions Bank" of Arts, Commerce and Science streamsfrom the session 2011-2012 for the benefit of the students. TheCouncil have received a good response from the students and decidedto bring out the third revised edition of "Model Question Bank"before August 2013.
From this academic session 2013-2014 Council has introducednew book "Effusion" for the students of HS Second Year offeringAlternative English.
The Council acknowledges with thanks the suggestions putforward by various organizations and members of the Committeein planning the calendar. The Council honestly feels if this calendaris followed, the academic environment of the state will definitelymove towards the desired goal.
