Page 13: AboutUS By Hotspotorlando

Lineu Zadereski is an artist, sculptor and graphic designer, and recognized as one of the youngest representatives of Brazilian art and culture in the United States. In search of new oppor-tunities and experiences, Zadereski who left the city of Curitiba in order to study English, saw the same oppor-tunity the chance to go further when he decided to enter college. The art and visual communication is imple-mented through the many options of study as the best direction to his ca-reer and his lifetime achievement. In 2004 after graduating from Middle-sex Community College on "Liberal Arts" with the diploma of "associate degrees" in a graphic designer, Lin-eus's career entered a new direction. The early work and their experiences with the reality does not always shown in full at first sight, so it was necessary to find out how a work of art, and for this investment was needed over the years. After many designs and art techniques such as xilographie, tilogravura, serig-raphy and oil painting, Lineu began using acrylic in his paintings that best represent its current phase. The graphic art work, or computer work that he uses in his work is cur-rently figurative marks with symmet-

rical and balanced, his art is highlight-ed by cubism and abstract composed of bright colors. In 2011 Lineu was invited to be the propeller of the art festival at "Lowell Riverfest" (River Festival) which takes place every year in the City of Low-ell, and that at the time sported the theme; Culture Flows (flow culture), given the rich diversity represented by the same people. Besides the creator of the symbol of the event, a fish with the features of his artistic style, it has produced all the graphics context in publicizing the event. Finally Lineu made his debut as a sculptor to repro-duce three-dimensional sculpture of the fish icon of the event. Lineu was attended by over 500 students from public schools in the region, which in turn accounted for the fish in 24 panels, where each one named after a different country. "The honor of rep-resenting the diverse ethnic and cul-tural mix in the festival through the my work was rewarding and inspiring, afirma Zadereski commenting about the experience.Between this and other events the name of Lineu received prominence and public recognition as a promising young Brazilian talent.

At the end of 2011 honored with the prize Talent Brazil in Boston attrib-uted to its contribution to the Brazil-ian community in the United States, Zadereski also received his appoint-ment to the 2012 Press Award in the category Visual Arts. Lineu who has worked as an floor cleaner, cook, dishwasher, reception manager, waiter, and others today in addition to artist and 'graphic designer' art and design instructor he teaches for teenagers aged 15-22, in a non-gov-ernmental organization, the UTEC (United Teen Equality Center.) http://utec-lowell.org/.Organization that is dedicated to social and economic success of youth and adolescents in the institution seeking the help you need for a new "start".By portraying these and other sto-ries, which led to alliances with the inspiration to customize the chal-lenges and achievements, we can honor an authentic art and the scope of reality with which we identify.Values depicted in colorful pictures and the lives of those who partici-pated directly and indirectly in this allegory. It is the continuing growth and im-provement that emerged from daily experiences and constants, which over the years have shown discipline

and dedication in their maturation. But this window was opened earlier with the influences of established artists such as Brazilian Candido Portinary and Tarsila do Amaral who inspired and were added to the first classes of lithography into a cul-tural center in Curitiba called Solar do Barao at age 10 .Among the characteristics and traits we have identified in his paintings, we see geometric shapes, smiling fig-ures and optimistic. Hand and foot an natural make up of the complex bodies with the help of an inductive three-dimensional element targeting the compound artistic center. Anoth-er striking feature of his work are his eyes, always with one eye open and one closed and each picture complete Lineu represents a "belt", where your signature seal the work to close and engage the whole art.For more information visit http://lineuarts.blogspot.com/

MARTA CERQUEIRA

Marta Cerqueira- DREAMS IN PAPER.Marta is an artist with a deep imagination, her work shows how high she can go, and for sure flies higher and faster than she can realize. The many talents she has are deeply tuned to her route in life.Born in Brazil, in João Pessoa, as a little girl she developed a passion for colors. Marriage, children and religion, took her to different Countries and also to the need of express herself. Oil painting at first, then watercolors, silhouettes, and later paper sculpture her latest find. It seems like the infinite possibilities on a white sheet of paper, works as a trigger to her inclination to cutting, constructing and creating beauty out of nothing. Gifted like artists all arebut still getting to learn more intimacy with her own creative process and fast developing and growing her wings. With true attention to detail, the dreams of a little girl are clear transpiring through her dolls, beautiful work allowing anyone to dream just by looking at them. They are luxurious, constructed by dif-ferent materials, pieces of a dream that comes true after they are meticulously dressed and completed . Marta is an artist with a big heart, and Faith, and a real connection to her child sidewhat makes it possible to do her art so well. Maybe if we all still had a little more of childhood in us we could have a better world, filled with more imagination and love.

Visitem o website www.martacerqueira.com

Orlando-based Company,“GotChosen” Launched the Largest Single Private National ScholarshipInitiative Ever Seen in the United StatesOn May 1st, GotChosen, Inc., an innovative digital media and devel-opment company headquartered in Orlando, FL, launched the larg-est scholarship drawing in the na-tion “GotScholarship:$40k to Give Away!” drawing. There is no cost to participate, and the company will award $40K away to one winner with a dream of attending college, or to pay for existing college loans. The scholarship may also be transferred by the winner to anyone of any age to pay for actual educational expenses. The concept for the company was conceived during the economic struggles of 2008 by Founder and CEO, Osvaldo Silva. Silva’s focus was to assist anyone with the desire of completing their degree in higher education, but who did not have the financial means to do so. Silva’s

philanthropic interest developed the first phase of the corporate vision beginning with the GotScholarship: $40k to Give Away drawing - the first scholarship drawing of its kind. The program will instantly establish GotChosen’s primary mission of as-sisting individuals and families to achieve their educational potential and life aspirations, and to introduce the company on a large national scale. Subsequent drawings will en-large the scope of the company’s en-deavors, but will remain focused on the college market.“An essential element of the core values of GotChosen is a deep-root-ed need and desire to give back,” said Silva. “Our team is eager to witness the wonderful things that will be done by the recipients, and to how this scholarship will change their futures. We hope that our donation to their dreams was the difference that made it all possible.”The amount of student loans ac-quired in 2011 crossed the $100 bil-lion mark for the first time in his-tory, and total loans outstanding will exceed $1 trillion for the first time this year. The Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the U.S. Department of Education, and private sources report that Americans now owe more on student loans than on credit cards.

Moreover, as the cost of higher edu-cation spirals ever higher, the traditional channels for student loans and grants are being limited by on-going credit tightening, economic weakness, and governmental policies. For some, this situation creates an insurmountable obstacle to a college education, making the $40,000 scholarship from GotCho-sen a new potential way to achieve their dream. The scholarship is open to all: current students, ex-students with outstanding loans, or even future college students. It is free and easy to enter, as well as being100% transfer-able. Moreover, the more individuals recruited to enter the contest on a student’s behalf, the more potential entries will exist to increase the stu-dent’s chances of winning. You may register to enter for your chance to win the GotScholarship: $40K to Give Away drawing by visit-ing the GotChosen website at: www.gotchosen.com beginning May 1st, 2012 and the contest will close on September 30th, 2012.“This is only the first phase of our efforts,” Silva further added. “We anticipate creating a long line of scholarship recipients who will benefit. It is an exciting time for our young company, and we are hopeful

that we will become a powerful cre-ative and economic contributor for many years to come.”About GotChosen:GotChosen is an innovative startup in digital media and development headquartered in Orlando, FL. The company’s primary aim is to deliver an unparalleled interactive media and entertainment experience to us-ers by bridging gaps in digital and traditional media. This vision will be implemented on computers, tablets, smartphones and smart TVs near you in 2013-14.For more information aboutGotChosen, please visit:www.gotchosen.com

Page 37: AboutUS By Hotspotorlando

Page 38: AboutUS By Hotspotorlando

Havaianas flip-flops are on consum-er’s feet in 85 countriesOn the verge of celebrating its 50th anniversary, the brand takes irrever-ence and the Brazilian spirit world-wide; about 4 billion pairs have al-ready been sold since its creationThe Havaianas brand is part of the portfolio of Alpargatas, one of the most traditional companies in Bra-zil, founded 104 years ago. When Havaianas were created in 1962, Al-pargatas’ idea was to create footwear that fit in any Brazilian’s “wallet”. The products were inspired by a tra-ditional Japanese sandal called Zori, which was comfortable and made with fabric straps and woven rice straw. The Zori’s sole, with a texture simi-lar to that of rice grains, inspired the creation of Havaianas. With a simple design and low price, Havaianas are made from resistant rubber. The phrase, “they don’t deform, the straps don’t come loose and don’t smell” became vey-well known in the 70’s, with the commercials featuring the Brazilian comedian Chico Any-sio. In the 80’s, models in four tones and white insoles were available and became popular among the poorer classes. With a simple design and low price, Havaianas are made from resistant rubber. don’t deform, the straps don’t come loose and don’t smell” became vey-well known in the 70’s, with the com-mercials featuring the Brazilian comedian Chico Anysio. In the 80’s, models in four tones and white insoles were available and became popular among the poorer classes. They were sold in plastic bags and sometimes placed next to cleaning material and almost always in places with little visibility at the points of sale. To differentiate themselves, some people from higher classes created fashion, turning the Havaianas in-soles down and making them one tone.

In the early 90’s, Alpargatas reinvent-ed Havaianas’ positioning. The com-pany created Havaianas Top, making them available in cheerful colors and aligned with fashion trends. The change was also seen at the points of sale – with more attractive packag-ing and communication – and at the company, where the work with opin-ion formers and journalists became even more active. The agency Al-mapBBDO assumed Havaianas’ ac-count and, together with Alpargatas, created irreverent advertising cam-paigns focused on the consumers.

Page 45: AboutUS By Hotspotorlando
Page 46: AboutUS By Hotspotorlando

That was when the signature “Havaianas, everyone wears them” was born. The strategy of investing in a product mix and marketing took the brand to consolidate itself as an international mania, becoming a synonym for happiness, relaxation and, especially, the Brazilian spirit.

The TV campaigns were fun films where well-known celebrities were “spotted” wearing the sandals. Malu Mader, Vera Fisher, Carolina Ferraz, Marcos Palmeira, Raí, among others, revealed that they wore and liked the product. In the magazine campaigns, the colors would catch consumers’ eyes in equally original ads.

And the interventions didn’t stop. In 1998, the Soccer World Cup inspired the launch of Havaianas Copa, a new model with a small Brazilian flag on the strap. The expectation that the Brazilian all-star team, “canarinho” (canary), would be the champion af-ter the success in 1994 was Alparga-tas’ great bet. The World Cup ended (and the Brazilians did not win the trophy), but the model remained and, due to the great success of the new product, it started being called Havaianas Brazil.

A CHILD NEED OF ACCEPTANCE

Only when the child feels accepted by parents he will feel accepted by others and by God , because children develop problems when they experience a lack of acceptance; The critical constants cause the child to create feelings of rejection, failure and inadequacy.Compare the child with another con-veys a lack of acceptance. Children are not all the same and compare them is a great injustice. The continuous com-parison creates feelings of inferiority.Overprotection of a child in general contributes to their sense of non-accep-tance. How many times you say, "Son I do not want you to enter the water until you learn to swim" How, then will he learn? The lack of protection is less dangerous than over protection. If you wait too long the child can create feelings of non-acceptance. If you impose to the child to reach a certain level of behavior, that can make him feel inadequate. This does not al-ways mean yielding to the whims of the child. The unacceptable behavior needs limits.Acceptance means to respect the feel-ings and personality of the child. What to show your child that he is ac-

cepted?Acknowledge your child as unique, re-specting their individuality.Express your love for your child, let the child know that you love and really enjoy it.Accept your child's friends, the home should be a place where she can freely bring their friends and where they like to go. Let him know you appreciate his friends.Leave to demand perfection from their children. When we recognize that we are not perfect we make mistakes and show sincerity to the children.Treat your child as a person of worth - Use words like: excuse rather than the get out of my may!. Please, instead of get it to me, Thank you instead of silence implied that he did nothing more than his duty. The child does not feel accepted by their parents becomes vulnerable to de-structive pressure group. She struggles for acceptance by others. The way the child is accepted in the first years of life determines in part the esteem of herself and others when it reaches adulthood. If the home environment includes a happy and joyful acceptance of the child, she feels valued and strong. (Research book: The seven basic needs of the child. John M.Drescher, Publisher Christian world.)

Produced by Patrick Kahn, and supported by Lucy Foundation, snap has been a great success in the past few years.Snap orlando is a real celebration , an international event that opens its doors to artist photographers from allover the world. The lectures, exposition, fashion show, and thousands of people that wait impatiently evey year, are just a few of the highlights on this celebra-tion of 3 daysthrough images and all different as-pects of art in photography. To our honor this year a Brazilian Pho-tographer was invited,Gabriel Wickbold, a young artistfrom Sao Paulo Brazil.Gabriel started young, with poetry, then music. As a musician he made a few connections with the artistic world in Brazil, from there he says he found photography when he was illustrating his poetry book, (his own poetry) and his images were so powerful that his photography started being recognized.Today, Gabriel, has the most amazing colection of images, series that are just umbelievably touching like Sexual Col-or and his new series Naïve, that were inexibition at SP Arteat the Ibirapuera Park on 09.10 e 11,12 e 13 of May,simultaneously with snap in Orlando. Gabriel explained a little abouthis revolutionary work“The use of paint in the model’s skin gave me the

chance to show the fossil men in con-trast to birds, fish, insects and flowers of harmonic forms and bright colors portraying the life cycle. To achieve this effect to the species we used the art of taxidermy. The use of white for the ef-fect of “fossilization” of the modelscomplements the trajectory of the art-ist. “After all the colors I used in Sexual Colors, I gave myself the chalenge of incorporating white to my work and did it in Naïve,” he adds. The photos are darker and the themeis denser.Among the faces that participate in this relationship between man and nature, engaged with environmental causes, are celebrities like actress Thaila Ayala and Roberto Frejat musicians and Tico Santa Cruz.To Wickbold was “impor-tant to reconcile the theme of the series to personal rcauses of some of the art-ists involved in the work.”Meeting Gabriel is one of those gifts that life gives you. Bright, bold and transparent soul, vibrant smile with a great mind and heart.Nothing would have been possible without snap, and Patrick was able to conect us because of this great event . Here is to many more to come and hop-ing that Gabriel achieves even moresuccess in his life and career. To Patrick our eternal gratitude to wel-come us into snap!

The party really started when a parade ofentertainers leaded by Rainer started withcharacters in stilts, beautiful male models in gold shorts and great built bodies carrying long chaises with Mrs Florida, and Miss Central Florida. Brazil a world of opportunities

Continuing on the topic of "Brazil a world of opportunities", it is inevitable to think and look into the process that leaded to this rush.Brazil offers in the moment a large number of opportunities not only due to the favorable economy, but the also the World Cup and the Olympics Games on their way.But let's look away from the scenery andobserve the pri-mary details, on the consumer profile. Brazil has a population that has avid consumers, by necessity and also plea-sure, they love to travel.Imagine a population of 200 Million people with buying potential. It is a great opportunity. After many years battling a furious inflation, after increasing the buying power of the middle class by 5% of thispopulation, Brazil counts now on 40 million more consumers, since started emerging.Like this is not enough, on the last 3 years, Brazil has found a lot more oil sources and holds today one of the

largest offshore fields in the world. Not bad, it is like lady luck decided to look South, and found the Giant still asleep and woke him up to be rich. For many years many Brazilians mi-grated to the United States looking for a better life, today after many years passed by, Brazilians return to purchase business-es, homes, and instead of competing for small jobs, they now warm up the economy, andall this promoted by the promising growth in the Motherland. The Brazilian government has allowed over $200 Billion in improvements, to prepare for the Olympicsand World Cup, destined to improve Airports, Stadiums and also construc-tion of new stadiums, huge projects, and great opportunities in the naval, marine, aviation and construction fields. As you see there is potential, but there is also risk, due to the laws, and com-plicated taxation, and insurance. To be successful and avoid surprises, look into support with Law firms that are prepared to guide you safely with your businessventure, also insurance, and prepare yourself to learn the Brazilian way, where trust comes first, and then busi-ness.Good luck to all !

To meBuzios - Rio de Janeiro - BrazilWritten by Simoni LucenaPhotos by Marcio Lucena.

For our family is always a difficult deci-sion to choose an alternative travel option that isn’t by the water when we go on vaca-tion. First because we love the ocean, sec-ond because we live in the mountains and finally with a vast coastline seductive as ours, we always pass on the other options as far as other states or even overseasWith an extention of seven thousand kilo-meters on the Brazilian coast, 635 of it are in Rio de Janeiro. The state is second only in size to the coastal Bahia and Maranhao. And here, at Cantos & Encantos, we regis-ter one of the most enjoyable tours we've ever done, the charming Buzios.Keeping the simplicity of a fishing village and at the same time allowing the sophis-tication of an international resort, Buzios attracts visitors from around the world. Much of its success owned to the actress Brigitte Bardot, who in the 60s took ref-uge in theregion and the fishing village gained in-ternational fame. In Orla Bardot, the actress remains today, immortalized in

a bronze sculpture in size, which used to enjoy the beach Frame.Other sculptures can also beappreciated, adding beauty to the walks of late afternoon, as the three fishermen who collect network artificial island of stones. They are images that recall the impor-tance of preserving traditional fishing and so realistic, to deceive the visitors at first glance. We recorded the enchantment of children around the artwork.Búzios is dotted with 23 beaches of breathtaking beauty, as few strokes as well Geribá, with bars on the seafront with an effervescent tourism. and the lmost de-serted like, Brava beach, where the strong waves make it a favorite among the surf-ers. All of rare beauty, where water can be colder or lukewarm, and color can be dark green to a crystal clear blue. Those whoprefer windsurfing or kite surfing, or sim-ply stretch out in the sun and unwind, you can choose Rasa beach.Another option that also involves theecological importance of the region is home to the Sierra Emerências, part of the EPA (Environmental Protection Area) of the Pau-Brazil, the largest and most important book of this tree in the state of Rio de Janeiro. They are walking trails through the Atlantic, on foot or moto-cross, where you canenjoy the exuberance of nature, wildlife and many other breath-taking views from atop the hillsides. For these and other, it is almost impossi-ble not to register the charms of our eight thousand and five hundredkilometers of coastline.

When giving this chance to write about the Orlando mu-sic scene, a million ideas ran through my mind on what to write about. Finally I decided that the best way to shine light on our city would be by exposing the heros of our music scene. This month’s big shout out goes to the “VEN-UE”. There are so many night spots that support indie mu-sic but one stands alone in my eyes. Club 57 West from day one has dedicated its venue to local artist and bands like no other. When I 1st started South Coast Records, Amy and Anthony (The Owners) opened their club and their hearts to us. We were just a small company then but with the downtown exposure, we were able to build a big fan-base in Orlando. They are doing their part for Indie music. In order for our city to grow musically, we must unite as a city musically. 57 West and other clubs like it, are the foun-dation for our city to be a major force in the music Indus-try.

Stroll down Celebration is inviting no matter what, add an Art Festival even better. The festival had a wide range of artistic photography, paint-ings, exquisite beautiful jewelry, and a lot more.
