About the Report

At CSRBOX & NGOBOX, we have been analysing various trends in CSR among listed companies and private/unlisted companies since 2015. We have published various reports on CSR analysis at the national and regional levels, theme-wise interventions and trends on CSR spend in past 4 years. Our research team brings out annual report on estimated prescribed CSR spend of companies every financial year, to give insights about emerging trends, changes in CSR-fund availability with companies and scale of projects in current financial year. This report presents estimated prescribed CSR of companies in current financial year (2019-20).

As per the Section 135 of the Companies Act 2013, we tried to look at overall CSR landscape for the financial year 2019-20 by estimating the prescribed CSR of 500 large companies. We identified 500 large listed companies (either BSE or NSE or both) with INR 1 Cr. and above estimated prescribed CSR and tried to analyse the data.

Key Highlights

• Large 500 listed companies will spend about INR 13400 Cr on CSR, to comply with the CSR rules.

• Overall prescribed CSR for all listed and unlisted companies will be in the range of INR 16500-18000 Cr.

• Top 10 Companies will contribute almost 1/5th of the total CSR Fund. • 30 companies will spend over INR 100 Cr. each on CSR projects, while 25 companies will

spend between INR 50-100 Cr. on CSR projects. • Almost 115 companies will spend between INR 10-50 Cr. on CSR projects. • Banking and finance sector companies will contribute almost 1/5th of the total CSR fund

6th Dalmia Bharat-CSRBOX CSR Impact Awards 2019

The CSR Impact Awards is an initiative of Dalmia Bharat Ltd and CSRBOX to encourage companies, CSR foundations and CSR implementing agencies to deliver high impacts through CSR projects and adopt multi-stakeholder approach, leading to excellence in project outcomes.
