Stonewall Train the Trainer for secondary schools Stonewall train the trainer course on tackling homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying in secondary schools This course will be delivered by Herts for Learning – a Stonewall training partner with particular expertise in tackling homophobic, biphobic and transphobic (HBT) bullying in Hertfordshire. HBT bullying is endemic in secondary schools according to the Teachers’ Report 2014. 55% of lesbian, gay and bisexual students say they have experienced homophobic bullying, and almost 9 in 10 secondary school teachers say pupils regardless of sexual orientation experience it in their school, with 9 in 10 also hearing homophobioc language (phrases like ‘that’s so gay’) in school. Almost all teachers say they want to tackle this problem, but lack the training or support to do so.
