Homophobic, biphobic and transphobic (HBT) bullying is widespread in primaryschools. Almost half of primary school teachers say pupils in their schoolexperience homophobic bullying and seven in ten hear homophobic language– phrases like ‘that’s so gay’ – from pupils. Nine in ten teachers say they wantto tackle the problem, but lack the training or support to do so.
Stonewall’s Train the Trainer courses give pastoral, anti-bullying and PSHEleads the knowledge, tools and confidence to train colleagues on tackling HBTbullying and celebrating difference, as well as meeting the requirement of thenew Ofsted inspection framework. Participating schools become members ofStonewall’s School Champions programme. Statistics fromThe Teachers’ Report (2014)

Stonewall train the trainer course on tackling homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying in primary schools
This course will be delivered by Herts for Learning – a Stonewall training partner with particular expertise in tackling homophobic, biphobic and transphobic (HBT) bullying in Hertfordshire.
HBT bullying is widespread in primary schools. Almost half of primary school teachers say pupils in their school experience homophobic bullying and seven in ten hear homophobic language – phrases like ‘that’s so gay’ – from pupils. Nine in ten teachers say they want to tackle the problem, but lack the training or support to do so.
This is the Stonewall train the trainer course, designed to facilitate cascade training and whole school development.
