How did you use media technologies in the

construction and research, planning and evaluation

stages?

Page 3: A2 Media Evaluation - Question 4

What software/technologies did you use in the research stage, planning stage, production stage and evaluation stage?

My magazine has a title called Film Network. I managed to make the word ‘Film’ small enough but is still visible so I could fit it inside the film wheel. By enabling this technique, I am giving my audience the message of association when they see the film wheel, they will associate my magazine ‘film Network’ with this. Through doing this it will give my magazine the recognition from my target audience.

Within my research stage, a lot of my researching was presented on software. By using a range of presentational software. I am enhancing, developing and gaining more skills of the specific software. As well I begin to have a better understanding of the in-depth knowledge for uncommon software. Google Slides, Google Docs, Google Forms, Prezi and Slideshare are all well-known software that I used within my research stage of my coursework. Within my planning stage, a selection of my planning was presented on software. By using a close selection of presentational software, I was developing my skill further and using key features to my advantage when presenting my planning ideas. Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher are just some of the Microsoft package that I used within my research stage of my coursework.

Within my production stage, a limited selection of my production was presented on software. Adobe Photoshop CS6 and Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 are the two software I have used. By using Adobe Photoshop CS6 to create my two ancillary products; including a magazine and a poster, it’s would be an intense focus when getting to grips with features I hadn’t considered using before, so already here I am developing my knowledge and skills within Photoshop. As well by using Adobe Premiere CS6 to present and edit my film trailer on, I needed an extreme concentration because learning an entire new software within a few hours to ensure my film trailer is at a presentable standard is a tough task to tackle, so again here, not only am I developing my knowledge as I learn how to use Adobe premiere Pro CS6, I am enhancing and widening my knowledge and choices for future work or tasks.

Within my evaluation stage, I have used Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 to edit and adapt my evaluation. I am going to present them as mini movie, so the first question will appear on screen and then I will answer the question out loud from a detailed answer I have already created. I will do this for all four questions to show consistency.

Relating my skills and knowledge to Adobe Photoshop CS6. I have developed dramatically. At A2 I have used features and tools that I didn’t know were available on Adobe Photoshop CS6. My usage of features and tools have quartered, indicating I know another quarter of features and tool within Adobe Photoshop CS6. Relating my skills and knowledge to Adobe Premiere Pro CS6. I really have developed completely. As before A2, I was clueless and blind to Adobe Premiere Pro CS6, which is the reason why when editing begin I originally choose iMovie as I was familiar with the features and could apply the knowledge I had of it to help me edit my film trailer. With extreme concentration I managed to adapt and learn a new software in a few hours which is great to have achieved as I feel my film trailer is more than better than I could be now. There are more much features and tools that Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 had to offer than iMovie. I have gained and understood that it is always good to try something new even though it’s scary as you are blinded to something unfamiliar because you have no knowledge and no skills to guide you, but by learning the unknown, it can have a better outcome than originally designed or imagined.

Discuss the skills that you have learned and developed over the course of the project, you can discuss each type of software/technology that you used. How have you developed?
