GAME EXPLANATIONSBINGO: Pass out a Bingo sheet to each student. The students need to write one vocabulary word/phrase given at the bottom of the sheet per blank box. They need to fill in each box on the sheet. The teacher (or trusted student) acts as the Bingo caller. Pick a vocabulary word written at the bottom of the sheet and call it out to the students. Keep track of the words you say so you can double check when a student thinks they have “won.” OPTIONS: 1.You can choose to call out the word in English so the students work on simply reading the word. 2. You can call out the word in your native language so that the students need to find the translation of the word you say on their English Bingo cards. If the student has the word you call out, they need to mark it in some way. Using a protector sheet and an expo marker allows for the game to be erased and played multiple times.HOW TO WIN:A student yells out BINGO when he/she has 5 boxes that you called in a row (up, down, or diagonal).Double check their words with the words you call to make sure they truly have the correct words.

Erase and play again. Or play again during the next time they have class. (Have students bring in old socks. They make great erasers.)

MARKER WARS:Pair up the students in groups of 2 (if odd number, groups of 3 also work). Print off one sheet for each pair of students. Using a protector sheet and an expo marker allows for the game to be erased and played multiple times. Print off a sheet for you as the teacher to use to call off the words to the students. When you call out a word/phrase, the students search for it on their sheets and touch it with their marker. The first student to touch the word, marks the box with their color. If they touch the word at the same time, they both mark it with their color. Continue calling the words until all words are marked off on your own teacher sheet.HOW TO WIN:When all words are called, have students count up how many times their colors show up on their page. The student with the most words found first, wins against their partner.

Erase, switch partners and play again. Or play again during the next time they have class. (Have students bring in old socks. They make great erasers.)

MYSTERY PERSON: Pass out a Mystery Person sheet to each student. Have students cut out the people in squares and have the people facing up. Pair up the students in groups of 2. (Play as an entire class once to show the students how this game works if they have not played a game like it before. You can split the class in two and take turns having a student from each team asking questions.)OPTIONS: 1. Students pick their mystery people. Students need to look at their sheets and pick a person that their partner will try to guess. 2. Teacher hands out mystery people. Make an extra copy or two of this game sheet and cut out the people. Walk around and have your students pull a card with a person on it. This is the person he/she needs to help the partner guess.)Students take turns asking Closed Questions. For example: Partner 1 asks: Does your person have blonde hair? Partner 2 looks at his/her mystery person and answers either yes or no. They do not give any additional information. So, if Partner 1 has someone with blonde hair, he/she would say YES. Partner 2 would then turn over any person that doesn’t have blonde hair. Then Partner 2 gets to ask a question. HOW TO WIN:The students continue asking and answering questions until someone wants to guess the mystery person of the partner. If a student guesses incorrectly, they lose their turn. The first person to guess the mystery person of their partner correctly, wins!

Turn over all of the cards, switch partners and play again.
