About Kate Cooper I am currently CEO of Bloom Worldwide. I like to think that what separates me from many of my peers is that, whilst operating at board level for much of my career, I work hard to remain close to the digital industry with my finger firmly on the pulse of developments in technology and how this can affect social strategy in particular. My career highlights include (aside from founding Bloom) having time spent as Head of Social Media for the Cabinet Office and as Commercial Director at AMV.

Monday My check-in day Most of Monday is spent in meetings with key stakeholders in our business. Today I am meeting with my management board to discuss KPIs for the next quarter, focused on Bloom’s own marketing efforts with a new website launch and speaking with journalists about having recently been ranked the UK’s 5th best independent agency in the Drum Independent Agency Census.

Tuesday On-site with clients

I make sure I spend at least one day a week on-site with clients and today I am in Brussels. My meeting schedule includes planning with marketing, organising a social media conference, negotiating with procurement and launching an employee engagement programme on Twitter by pushing the button on the first tweet with the Marketing Director.

Wednesday My presentation day

Most weeks I am leading large scale presentations for clients or on behalf of Bloom. Today I am presenting a two hour slot at a client board meeting on the business case for increased investment in social media (and yes I am 8.5 months pregnant!).

Thursday My planning day We champion 30|60|90 planning at Bloom making sure we take care of the now whilst also looking to the future and today is a planning day for me. Projects in the pipeline at the moment include designing a new CRM system, integrated marketing strategy for Bloom and campaigns as a result of two new client wins. Oh and participating in #GlobalSelfie day.

Friday My doing day Most Fridays I aim to clear my diary of meetings and get my head down and get some doing done.

Today I am hands on in designing a client’s digital transformation strategy as well as reviewing some cutting edge attribution model work we have developed for a client in London.

Whenever it’s possible, I try to lead by example with work/life balance at the weekend and enjoy time with family, friends and the animals on my smallholding in West Sussex. Our six chickens, two dogs, cat, two pigs and potager keep me busy most weekends.

It’s the WEEKEND!
