About us
Head Office of Geodesy and Cartography (GUGiK) is Polish National Mapping and Cadastral Authority
Responsible for coordination of INSPIRE implementation in Poland
Also directly responsible for harmonisation of data sets for 15 INSPIRE themes
HEAD OFFICE OF GEODESY AND CARTOGRAPHY
What is CAPAP?
Spatial Analysis Centre of Public Administration
does not only focus on a spatial analysis
is not only dedicated for public administration

HEAD OFFICE OF GEODESY AND CARTOGRAPHY
Standard INSPIRE approach
HEAD OFFICE OF GEODESY AND CARTOGRAPHY
As an NMCA we have adopted INSPIRE principles. We have: 96 view services: 75 WMS, 21 WMTS 63 download services: 22 WFS, 6 WCS, 35 ATOM around 50 other services
publically available, providing all kinds of data sets. Altogether we publish approximately 32 TB of data.
New approach
HEAD OFFICE OF GEODESY AND CARTOGRAPHY
Applications with simple GUIs
Applications and services with simple APIs
Standardised but not „spatial” interfaces like SOAP, REST
Simplified data models
Popular, non‐spatial data exchange formats; XML, JSON, CSV, Shapefile instead GML
Eye‐catching and simple map compositions
Simple licensing, open data
Applications – Data Catalogue & Data Manager
HEAD OFFICE OF GEODESY AND CARTOGRAPHY
Data Catalogue allows to search, filter and view spatial data sets, results of spatial analysis and map applications published by users
Data Manager allows to publish data sets, results of spatial analysis and map applications
Applications – Map Creator
HEAD OFFICE OF GEODESY AND CARTOGRAPHY
Map Creator allows to create map in simple wizard‐like approach
Supports all main map presentation method
Data editing
Sketch
Inbuilt tools (e.g. print, add external view service, find, filter, measurements, location etc.)
Several background maps to choose from
Example of application ‐ 24 hour health carehttps://opiekacalodobowa.gov.pl/
Applications – Mobile
HEAD OFFICE OF GEODESY AND CARTOGRAPHY
Mobile application allows to present map created in Map Creator on a mobile device
Simple map customization
Data editing
Location services
Measurements
Error reporting
Terrain profile generation
Applications – Geocoding
HEAD OFFICE OF GEODESY AND CARTOGRAPHY
Geocoding application allows to batch geocode and reverse geocode data using addresses, geographic names, cadastral parcels as referential data
Wizard‐like approach
Separate method optimised for large datasets
On‐the‐fly presentation of geocoding results
Additional SOAP API

Applications – LOD Management, LOD Analysis & RDF Explorer
HEAD OFFICE OF GEODESY AND CARTOGRAPHY
LOD Management application allows to upload, edit and publish LOD
LOD Analysis allows to analyse LOD
RDF Explorer allows to find and view published RDF data
Applications – Spatial Analysis
HEAD OFFICE OF GEODESY AND CARTOGRAPHY
Spatial analysis applications allows to create map compositions
Several inputs and outputs
Analysis can contain multiple steps
Publishing results of analysis in Data Manager
Applications – Data Quality Validation
HEAD OFFICE OF GEODESY AND CARTOGRAPHY
Data Quality Validation application allows to verify the Quality of data set
Syntactic and semantics checks
Quality check of geometry and attributes
Validation against referential datasets
Scratch language used to define the rules
Additional SOAP interface
Applications – Error Reporting
HEAD OFFICE OF GEODESY AND CARTOGRAPHY
Error Reporting application allows to report errors of data sets, services and applications

Summary
HEAD OFFICE OF GEODESY AND CARTOGRAPHY
One of the main goals of the CAPAP project is to increase spatial data utilisation by citizens, business and public administration.
In order to achieve this goal publication of good quality spatial data is not enough. We need APIs, services and applications that can lower entry threshold of users.
CAPAP tries to achieve it by launching bunch of simple application supporting various activities related to spatial data.
Most of the applications will be publicly available before the end of 2018.
