Latar Belakang Sistem proteksi lama menggunakan parameter
rata-rata tegangan dan perubahannya untuk mendeteksi gangguan ground, tetapi hal itu peka terhadap impedansi gangguan.
Penelitian selanjutnya berhasil mengembangkan sistem proteksi dengan metode traveling wave, tetapi memiliki kelemahan pada mathematical tools dan mudah dipengaruhi noise.
Peneliti mengusulkan skema proteksi arus harmonik transien dengan PSCAD/EMTDC yang dimodelkan dengan sistem parameter terdistribusi.

Tujuan Menemukan sistem proteksi yang sederhana,
handal, dan praktis dengan respon yang tepat pada berbagai kondisi gangguan pada sistem transmisi HVDC.

Metode Analisa sinyal arus dan konten harmonik• discrete fourier transform (DFT)

Kesimpulan Sistem proteksi yang diusulkan pada paper
tersebut dapat memberikan hasil yang baik. Sistem proteksi tersebut dapat
mengidentifikasi gangguan internal dan eksternal secara cepat dan tepat dengan tanggapan sistem proteksi yang baik.
Faktor utama yang mempengaruhi keandalan sistem proteksi tersebut adalah resistan gangguan dan lokasi gangguan.
