A TALK WITH CEO OF LEE’S PHARM

NEW TRENDS IN BIOTECHNOLOGY AND BIOMEDICAL SCIENCE

Our Principal, Mr Genthew Leung, and 20 S.5 and S.6 Biology group

students have joined a talk with CEO of Lee’s Pharm at the Tuen Mun

Catholic Secondary School. It is organized by Caritas-Hong Kong School

Social Work Service and is a part of ‘Secondary School STEM Scientific

Investigation Experiential Learning programme’.

Dr. Li Xiaoyi gave us a valuable talk on the new trends and development of

Biotechnology and Biomedical Science. He also shared with us how he

overcame difficulties in order to develop his business and serve the

society.

5A Angela Kwok also has a sharing after the talk. It is amazing that more

participation of Chinese in the pharmaceutical industry such as Lee’s

Pharm. The use of Recombinant Human Interferon a-2b Gel in treating

patients with COVID-19 in Wuhan further supports the ‘wonderful power’

of a pharmaceutical company. From the talk, I could feel that Dr. Li Xiaoyi

is a visionary leader and he could predict the needs of human in the future

of healthcare. I am honoured to attend his talk and have learnt a lot from

him. I hope that I can also make my contribution to the society in the

future.
