This wine, a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, is grown just minutes outside Rome's ancient walls, in a vineyard beside the Via Appia. It's medium to full bodied, with subtle oak notes and finishes with warm spices and berries. A perfect companionto roasted meats, oxtail stew, or a bowl of carbonara. 290

Saia Nero D’Avola Sicilia 2014

Rich with plummy fruit, this wine ripens in the warm volcanic soils of Sicily. Slightly sweet, with leather and polished tannins, and hints of sandlewod, the 2013 Saia is a great representation of the more elegant side of Nero D’Avola. 350

This organic white wine, a blend of Viognier and Grechetto, a local Southern Italian varietal, is soft, fruity, and easy-to-drink. Fattoria La Rivolta Fiano Taburno 2013

The volcanic and limestone soils of Campania produce someexcellent, and under appreciated, white wines. This Fiano isfive years old, and is showing it’s age beautifully.
