Devine Appointments

The Susan B Anthony dollar was the first circulated coin to bear the image of a woman. You have been minted in the likeness of God and have been called out of darkness into His marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9)

Christ has placed great worth and value on you as His daughter, fellow heir to a divine inheritance amount the saints (Ephesians 1:18) You have been invested with gifts, talents, and uniqueness that God Himself deemed you suitable to carry.

You are......•Surprisingly satisfied.•Purposefully feminine. •Authentically you.

But thatʼs not all. You also have the opportunity to be.... Faithfully His.

Do you feel you have great worth? Or do you feel you are just an ordinary woman doing her part?____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

We should never be confused with the woman of this world, like the Susan B Anthony was confused with the quarter. We are held at a much higher value.

That is a lot to take in. This is what makes us different. Unique. In the face of a culture infested with sin and with enmity against God, we will be faithful to Him and the laurels of His Word.

Hebrews 3:1-6Jesus Greater Than Moses

3 Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest. 2 He was faithful to the

one who appointed him, just as Moses was faithful in all God’s house.

Think back in the bible how did Moses take the news that he would be having the great honor of leading Israel out of bondage? (Exodus 3) ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Think how Moses’s upbringing might cause Him issues and how God might have used that for a reason?

In the end Moses’ ____________ to the Lord's instruction would cost him final entrance into God’s chosen land for His people. (Pg. 70)

So why would the author of Hebrews use Moses as an example of faithfulness if he was obviously not. Moses himself might say, “What were they thinking?”

Can you relate to that? Maybe you are coming to the fourth resolution with that same disheartenment. So many blunders and mistakes stand out. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Then Moses example should give us great hope and encouragement. For despite his lengthy record of inadequacy, something about his story, legacy, and heritage was deemed worthy of highlighting and repeating to those of us who would love to think our lives might be similarly noteworthy.

God in Christ has made us different and now He invites us to desire the things He made us different for. This is what qualifies the faithful - those who recognize, accept, and pursue God’s path, knowing He will see to it that His calling comes to fruition.

Are you seeking to discover it each day? The best way to begin is by being faithful to what He has set before you right now. Sense the stirring in your soul as God’s Spirit quickens you to see what He’s called you to do today. Then pursue it at the expense of all else.

Faith VS. Faithfulness

“For you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.” James 1:3 ESV

A mother eagle is fiercely intent on guarding her eagles, but she is equally determined to see them reach their full potential. So her job is not complete until sheʼs caused them enough discomfort to make them ready to experience the reality of what God created them to do. • To stand to their feet• To spread their wings• And fly.

How do you feel about the tough love this momma eagle shows? How does this compare to Godʼs love for us?___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Faithfulness isn't merely the comfortable untested summary of someone’s beliefs - her faith - but rather a physical outworking of her actions.

Can you think of a time where your faith was tested and caused you to physically respond?

__________ is where faithfulness is honed and brought to life. (pg. 76)

You’d never classify someone as being faithful unless you’d seen her stand firm during a course of action and decision where it would have been much simpler to throw in the towel. The more consistently a person does this, the more honored she is for her steadfastness and perseverance.

We can believe that these resolutions would be effective, but if we don't act on them, we will never seen the fruit they were designed to produce,

Only when the nest is stirred and your wings are spread, when you stay in flight no matter how hard it is to keep your wings flapping - thats when you're proving to be faithful.

Faith VS. Faithfulness Continued.

Be faithful like Jesus was in His life and ministry here on earth.

Hebrews 5:8

8 Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered

He proved His faithfulness by working it out day by day, living through difficulties, surrendering His will (Luke 22:42) offering prayers and petitions (Hebrews 5:7) staying committed to His Father’s purpose regardless of His own human desires to steer away from crucifixion and death.

Jesus was prepared for His ultimate purpose because He’d “learned obedience” the hard way. Walking against the grain. Stacking up His bold profession against the bitter perils of life. Staying completely surrendered, totally committed to the Father’s plan.

Christ chose to humble Himself enough to gain His faithfulness through experience, then the same is certainly true for us.

In a world marked with constant change and incredulous options, a woman who is resolved to live faithfully is a mystery. But being different is worth the cost of being diligent and strong.

Iʼd like a word with you.

The Bible. We treasure it, and yet like too many valuable things in our lives, we have a tendency to turn it into just another burden.

What else in our lives should be important, but we see them sometimes as a burden?

Being faithfully His is rooted in the kind of relationship we have with His Word.

His Word is not a chore. It’s life. It’s Love. It’s living Truth, solid as granite yet soft as a baby’s skin. It’s not just to read. It’s to absorb. To bathe in. To live by. To inspire us, reshape us, and define us.

The Bible is not a book written with historical data for your information, but animated by His Spirit for your edification - to speak intimately and personally to you regarding His purposes for your life.

Faithfulness is a fruit of God’s Spirit.

Galatians 5:22-23

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

We have been encouraged to be a woman marked by dedication to heaven’s call, with a lifestyle to match.

In a world inundated with ideas to the contrary, the Bible is a constant reminder of who you really are, why you're really here and who you really belong to.
