Men are spoiled this time of year. Form and function pamper men, while women suffer for fashion. Come autumn no better example exists than the cardigan sweater. Wear it over a t-shirt or with a sportshirt or under a sportcoat and you’ll look cool, even smart, without necessarily trying to be either. Cardigans come in hefty wool, the better to protect you from nature’s wrath or a velvety lambswool, a buttery soft indulgence. They can be oversized and chunky or trim and modern. Inverness Raincoat

Our “Inverness” overcoat is a raincoat with classic pedigree. Perfectly representative of Scottish Balmacaan design and expertly made in Schneider’s Austrian workrooms, this is the quintessential raincoat. The high count cotton exterior provides waterproof comfort (with the exterior cotton fabric so tightly woven that it appears iridescent.) Warmth is provided by a button-in removable lining. The british tan coat is tastefully lined with a heathered carbon/brown wool and the navy with burgundy. Both coats feature a wool under collar that matches the lining fabric.

Country gentleman’s suit, or weekend wear, or business casual attire - however we catagorize this garment it evokes a certain genteel - nature representing a departure from strict business formality. This is a suit styled perfectly for its role. Quarter stitching, hook vent, bone buttons, and made from a hard finish, wrinkle resistant, all-wool olive-tan whipcord fabric. Magee Tweed Donegal Sportcoat

Donegal tweed is a hand woven tweed fabric manufactured in County Donegal, Ireland. Like the Outer Hebrides, County Donegal has for centuries been producing tweed from local materials. Sheep thrive in the hills and bogs of County Donegal and indigenous plants such as blackberries, fuchsia, and moss provide dyes. Towards the end of the 18th century the Royal Linen Manufacturers of Ulster distributed approximately six thousand flax wheels for spinning wool to the region to grow the industry.

For many years Donegal tweed has commonly referred to a visually distinctive “salt and pepper” tweed design that features two primary light and dark shades. (eg. black or navy along with white or beige) and a limitless variety of pin dot accent colors.

Our newest Donegal tweed produced by Magee of Donegal is charcoal and white with strong plum undertones. Other accent colors include red, bottle green, fuchsia, maize yellow, and orange.

One of the most sought after and imitated fabrics is a cotton and wool blend known as Viyella. It is this ideal blend of merino wool, famed for its soft hand and lightness and long staple cotton, unrivaled for sheer luxury and outstanding wear that gives Viyella its magical qualities of comfort, softness and warmth. This fall choose from fresh new designs as well as a selection of tried-and-true patterns. Made in the USA or Canada.

Our heaviest wool trouser is made from a sturdy 16 oz. Shetland wool - just the answer for our late fall and winter freezing conditions, especially if your regimen takes you to windswept downtown or near water front.

This heavy weight woolen trouser is equal to a cozy flannel for warmth yet with just a bit more grit and texture against the frigid elements. Available in dark charcoal and medium grey - both versatile for dress or casual. Also in a herringbone british tan or

Loden cloth is a lightweight very dense, windproof and water repellant wool fabric. This cloth originated centuries ago to protect mountian farmers from harsh Alpine weather. Today this exclusive fabric, native to Austria, is still used to make outerwear fit for purpose and rich with tradition. Our “Strada” is a 3/4 length coat complete with set-in shoulder, open armhole for freedom of movement, leather buttons, and hand warmer pockets. It features traditional Austrian style that translates well to current form and function. Our reversibile raglan shoulder overcoat features one side poplin and the other a light weight loden cloth. Based on the classic Beaufort jacket this practical men's jacket offers ultimate weather protection and a relaxed fit. The insulating tartan lining boasts a waterproof yet breathable lining with robust taped seams, while the two-way zip with storm fly front and stud fastenings seal out wind and rain. Barbour’s signature corduroy collar creates a smart appearance, but can be raised and secured with the throat strap for additional protection, and waist-height handwarmer pockets are a must-have for the cold winter months. The Barbour Powell is the same cut as the popular Chelsea style but in Polarquilt fabric for extra warmth. This jacket comes with a 100% quilted polyester outer bound to a fleece lining for warmth and comfort.
