A NUT & SHELLFISH AWARE SCHOOL 14 August 2014 ASSUMPTION PRAYER Father in heaven, all creation rightly gives you praise for all life and all holiness come from you. In the plan of Your wisdom she who bore the Christ in her womb was raised body and soul in glory to be with Him in heaven. May we follow her example in reflecting your holiness and join in her hymn of endless life and praise. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Dear Parents, It is always a great pleasure to see our students participate in sporting and other activities outside the school. This was especially so to watch our students, who acquitted themselves to the very best of their ability last Friday at the Central Downs Allora Carnival. The most important part of the day was the St Francis de Sales students’ resilience and good sportsmanship. Our students are a credit to the school and our whole community. Congratula- tions to the children on their outstanding efforts last Friday. The following 18 students are to be congratulated for being selected in the Central Downs Team to compete at the Southern Downs Competition next Friday, 23/08/14: Heidi Burton, Kristy Shingles, Lillian Jessen, Harry Bange, Lachlan Peardon, Joseph Bange, Cameron Lyons, Tara Wilkinson, Aaron Stace, Lachlan Harris, Darby Peardon, Lachlan Meacle, Lauren Smith, Cy Deeth, Sophie Willett, Lily Rickert, Lexi Wilkinson, Alister Harris I wish to thank Mr Tyronne Maher for his coaching and arranging of the sporting events tied to the Central Downs Carnival and all other staff involved on the day. A reminder that the paperwork as- sociated with these sporting days is huge and times for children to be at school for lifts need to be adhered to. Parents can be of great help at these times to ensure that forms are completed time- ously and returned so that arrangements can be made and parents need to phone the school by 8.45am if their child is ill and not coming to school on a sporting event day.

Dear Parents Prep/One With regards to the notes sent home about costumes for the play, Mrs Bange has found 19 leggings and tops which would allow our “herd” of camels to look the same. We would like $5 from each child for the leggings and the school will pur-chase the tops and cover the extra cost of this costume. If anyone is keen to attach humps please come and see me. We have made ears!!
