Nagpur and renowned expert in the field FEA

applications biomedical Engineering, extensively

covered different approaches to design of

mechanical engineering components and systems.

He emphasized his views through a number

of live case study presentations and explained actual

design approaches used for designing systems such

as aircrafts, cars, guided missiles, pipelines and in

construction of buildings as also in designing

machine components like the springs and beams. In

his talk he discussed the application of static and

dynamic analysis in designing springs under various

operating conditions and failure theories, in

particular the fatigue failure in presence of magnetic

field. He also showed how FEA can be gainfully

used to validate design before fabrication and in

designing any component as per required

parametric conditions. Students of Mechanical

Engineering, both undergraduate and M.Tech.

CAD/CAM attended the talk in large numbers.
