Dear Kids’ Chance Supporters, Colleagues and Friends, What an excing me for Kids’ Chance of America! We have achieved much together over the past several years. Our ever-growing number of talented volunteers, partners, board members - and of course our “Kids”- join a community dedicated to helping students affected by a workplace injury pursue their educaonal goals. This tremendous organizaonal growth has advanced founder Bob Clya’s original dream of a Kids’ Chance in every state. We have gained a real sense of momentum, increasing our funds through the generosity of our wonderful partners, providing our member states with addional scholarship funding to reach more students, convening our Council of State Organizaons regularly to share best pracces and provide valuable input to the naonal office, and most importantly, gaining real tracon with our Planning for College iniave, which has assembled a large pipeline of current and future applicants. Our focus now shiſts from growing more states to sustaining the momentum we’ve created. The single most important goal is to advance our member states. We have diverse organizaons with a wide array of Kids’ Chance experiences, approaches and at various stages of their organizaonal life-cycle. Our job at Kids’ Chance of America is to help support our state organizaons in any way possible in order for them to be more successful. We do that not by telling them what to do; but rather, by reaching out to assist them wherever they see the need. Our second priority is, of course, increasing our scholarship impact. Our focus quite simply is more money for more kids. We want to thank our naonal partners who have helped to increase our visibility across the country, as well as those who have helped to propel our Planning for College iniave, which has grown to 350 potenal scholarship applicants. In addion, we are working on idenfy best pracces in the scholarship process so that all state organizaons benefit from this shared knowledge. We are thrilled to launch our second annual Kids’ Chance Awareness Week beginning on November 14, 2016. Please visit the website to see what’s happening across the country and to download your new 2016 Awareness Week buon. Dear Kids’ Chance Supporters, Colleagues and Friends,

What an exciting time for Kids’ Chance of America! We have achieved much together over the past several years. Our ever-growing number of talented volunteers, partners, board members - and of course our “Kids”- join a community dedicated to helping students affected by a workplace injury pursue their educational goals.

This tremendous organizational growth has advanced founder Bob Clyatt’s original dream of a Kids’ Chance in every state. We have gained a real sense of momentum, increasing our funds through the generosity of our wonderful partners, providing our member states with additional scholarship funding to reach more students, convening our Council of State Organizations regularly to share best practices and provide valuable input to the national office, and most importantly, gaining real traction with our Planning for College initiative, which has assembled a large pipeline of current and future applicants.

Our focus now shifts from growing more states to sustaining the momentum we’ve created.

The single most important goal is to advance our member states. Our focus quite simply is more money for more kids. We want to thank our national partners who have helped to increase our visibility across the country, as well as those who have helped to propel our Planning for College initiative, which has grown to 350 potential scholarship applicants. In addition, we are working on identify best practices in the scholarship process so that all state organizations benefit from this shared knowledge.

The Faces of Kids’ Chance - Emily “One week after moving back to my family, I was shopping at the Sheboygan Mall with my cousin. We looked at clothes, shoes, nail polish, and everything else a 12 year old girls would love. As we looked through the jewelry section of Claire’s, I lost it. I came across a necklace that said, “Daddy’s Little Princess”. That’s when it hit me. Everything in the past year slammed into me like I hit a wall. I wasn’t Daddy’s Little Princess anymore, I was just the girl who lost her dad.

Now that I’m 18 and graduated high school in only three years, It was time to look towards my next steps. I hold my education very close to my heart, and I knew the day I toured, that Ripon College was my next chapter in life. However, with only one source of income for the past five years, a private liberal college didn’t seem like an option.

Kids Chance of Wisconsin gave me the opportunity to better myself and my education affordably. Thanks to them, I can continue on a path of success and make my dad proud.”

Our Faces of Kids’ Chance community continues to grow. Please encourage your recipients to share their story through our online form. We can’t wait to meet them.
