Dear Parishioners: I am pleased to announce that Bishop Duca has given preliminary approval for con-struction and improvements to expand the Burleigh Center. This expansion is one phase of our existing Master Plan for St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, which was set forth in 2010. The timing of this project is in response to immedi-ate needs in the parish. This project will serve to re-place the present library building, a 1940s vintage house which is deteriorating rapidly. Also, the Bur-leigh Center requires major maintenance and the kitchen needs to be upgraded from what is basically a home kitchen to more of a commercial grade kitchen. The parish Finance and Pastoral Councils have each recommended that we contract with Mark Prevot, Master Plan architect, to provide detailed plans with regard to expanding the Burleigh Center to meet current and future needs with an updated kitchen and serving counter, a room for scout activi-ties, a room for RCIA, a room for the parish library, rooms for existing religious education programming, an additional room for various meetings, and for ex-panded storage space. Once completed, this pro-posal, including financial details, will require the final approval of the Bishop. The final plan will be presented to the parish once it has received the final approval of Bishop Duca. This project is a direct result of you, the parish-ioner, participating in our parish stewardship of tal-ent and treasure. Robust participation in parish ac-tivities calls for this expansion, and your gift of treasure has allowed the parish to complete the pay-ments of the previous debt. This allows us to con-sider putting resources toward the cost of this pro-ject. Thank you for your stewardship and support of the parish. Sincerely, Father Phil
