Hello Friends!

As you know, postage went up again in January. We depend on our newsletter mailing to keep you informed so we’ll continue to send notices, but in the form of postcards. You will have the option of downloading a newsletter from our site, www.americana.net (click “newsletters” link), so you can still read about all the great items we’ll be bringing your way as well as other important news. And of course we always appreciate your printing and sharing our newsletter with others! By doing this we can keep costs down and pass the savings on to you. For more details on our new process, visit americana.net and click on “articles”. Now on to the good stuff!

This spring/summer we are bringing a fully re-stocked inventory of new jewelry, as well as several private collections we obtained last year. They are so large that we still have work to do in terms of cataloguing, cleaning and preparing them for sale. This show series will have 100+ never before seen pieces for sale. The collection contains jewelry from some of the most outstanding and sought after Native American artists in the southwest. There are also very limited pieces of Bruce Hodgins jewelry available, some of which we obtained very recently, but after this there won’t be much available (unless we come across a private collection). We’ll have a variety of inlayed jewelry from Stone Weaver artists, Zuni earrings, rings, pins and pendants, as well as some larger mens sized rings per your requests and new Alton Bedonie rings and a stunning Alton Bedonie ammolite necklace. On our way to see you we obtained a very rare, mint condition Fred & Lolita Natachu (Zuni) rainbow Yeii pin/pendant. If you are looking for concho belts with a “wow” factor we have a fabulous selection thanks to the aforementioned collections. Something fun we haven’t had in a while is a large collection of amber jewelry; a whole case in fact. These are vintage pieces, many from Poland ca 1980s-1990s. We’ll also have a great selection of earrings, rings, Italian sterling silver chains and more, plus two stunning pair of Carl & Irene Clark earrings. Other very collectible items include a Michael Perry Bisbee turquoise and coral pendant, three beautifully carved animal fetish necklaces by multi-award-winning Zuni artist Lavina Tsikewa, a 14kt gold & Morenci turquoise pendant, a Bisbee and 14kt gold pendant by master goldsmith

Brian Clark as well as several superb bird inlay pendants by Zuni artists Harlen & Monica Coonsis and Ruddell & Nancy Laconsello. These are just a sampling of the thousands of items we’re bringing your way. As always, we have Items to

fit any budget, from insanely affordable (think gifts!) to not-to-miss collector items!

Carvings, Pottery, Rugsand More

We have a great selection of medium and small sandpaintings and several larger sandpaintings as well as some nice pieces of western art originals. All of our sand paintings are completely handmade, matted, and framed by Navajo artists. We also have sand painting boxes, which make lovely and unique gifts, and a few sand painting clocks. Our kachina selection is strong with an inventory of Hopi carvings. Work from award winning artists, Laurence Dallas, Keith Torres, Raymond Chee, Marlin Pinto and Sterling McRae are on hand. We have a great pair Martha Appleleaf and Carmelita Dunlap, black on black feather pattern pots as well as several much sought-after pots from Bob Lansing. Recently we acquired three Maria Martinez pots from a collection as well as pieces by Phyllis and Marlene Hemlock. This collection also contains several great miniature pots and a miniature storyteller. We have a large selection of Zuni animal fetishes on hand. Many of these carvings are by well known, award winning artists and are crafted from an assortment of stones and organic material. Marvin Toya, from the Jemez Pueblo carved several mid-size pieces that measure in the six to eight inch range and some smaller inexpensive gift sized ones, including eagles, owls, corn maidens and others. Other not to miss pieces are some stunning carvings by Florentine Martinez, a multi-award winning Zuni carver. There will be something in everyone’s price range, so be sure to stop by and see us! See you there!
