Day 1 Saturday, September 9 – Arrive London, Heathrow Independent arrival into London *Broad Escapes will have recommended group flights from Toronto. We would be pleased to book your flights to meet this tour from any departure gateway. Pre and post tour extensions can be arranged for those who wish to extend their stay in Europe. Day 2 - Sunday, September 10 B/L/D London, Heathrow to Moreton-In-Marsh At breakfast, meet your Broad Escapes Tour Manager and depart on a private transfer to Moreton-in-Marsh (1.5hrs). Along the way we will stop in Oxford for a guided walking tour including visits to a couple of the Oxford Colleges and University properties. Over the centuries many famous writers: poets, novelists, critics and children’s authors have studied or lived here.

Arrive in Moreton-in-Marsh and check into your hotel. After check-in meet our private walking guide for an evening briefing to discuss the daily walks and flow of the tour.

Day 3 - Monday, September 11 B/pL Moreton-In-Marsh To Stow-On-The-Wold

(7½ Miles/12 Km) With hiking boots laced up, today we’ll begin the guided walking portion of this journey. Cross the high wolds to Stow-on-the-Wold, via the fantastic Mogul manor house at Sezincote and a number of pretty hamlets along the way.

Overnight in Stow-on-the-Wold at The Old Stocks Hotel (or similar) for 1 night.

Day 4 - Tuesday, September 12 B/D Stow-On-The-Wold To Bourton-On-The-Water (4½ Miles/7 Km) Today’s route from Stow-on-the-Wold is a leisurely downhill walk across meadows to picturesque Lower Slaughter with its working mill. We make a detour to Upper Slaughter to visit the pretty ford and on to Bourton-on-the-Water, with its many attractions.

Overnight in Lower Slaughters Country Inn (or similar) for 1 night; a lovely country setting with plenty of gardens.

Day 5 - Wednesday, September 13 B Bourton-On-The-Water To Winchcombe (6½ Miles/10½ Km) Transfer by van to Guiting Power and walk through woods and fields before the dramatic descent to the ancient Saxon capital of Winchcombe. Continue on to visit Sudeley Castle, the last resting place of Katherine Parr, Henry VIII’s sixth wife. Overnight in Winchcombe, with its fascinating

church and local museums, at the White Hart Inn (or similar) for 1 night.

Day 6 - Thursday, September 14 B/pL Winchcombe To Broadway (4½ Miles/7km) Take the steam train from Winchcombe to Toddington then walk via the wonderful Jacobean Stanway House, with its magnificent gatehouse and medieval tithe barn, through Stanton villages and on to Broadway, where an array of fine houses and inns flank the “broad way”.

Overnight in Broadway at the Broadway Hotel (or similar) for 1 night.

Day 7 - Friday, September 15 B/D Broadway To Chipping Campden ( 6 Miles/9½ Km) Walk up to Broadway Tower, the 18th century folly from where there are fine views across the valley before descending to Chipping Campden, the loveliest of all Cotswold villages, with its covered market place, beautiful ‘wool’ church, almshouses and silversmith. Continue on for a visit to Hidcote Gardens to discover the maze of narrow paved pathways and “must see” gardens created by the talented American horticulturist, Major Lawrence Johnston.

Overnight in Chipping Campden at The Noel Arms Hotel (or similar) for 2 nights.

Day 8 – Saturday, September 16 B/pL Chipping Campden To Moreton-In-Marsh (7¾ Miles/12½ Km) Pass through the charming villages of Broad Campden and Blockley and descend to Batsford. On certain days of the week both Bourton House gardens and Sezincote House will be

open. Finally, enjoy the pleasant stroll across meadows to Moreton-in-Marsh and celebrate the success of completing the walking portion of this lovely journey! Take a bow – you did it! Overnight in Chipping Campden at The Noel Arms Hotel (or similar)

Day 9 – Sunday, September 17 B/D Moreton-In-Marsh With A Day Trip To Stratford-Upon-Avon After a leisurely breakfast depart for a day excursion to Stratford-Upon-Avon, birth place of William Shakespeare, the world’s most famous playwright. Enjoy a guided tour of Stratford-Upon-Avon including entrance to the Tudor-style Birthplace of William Shakespeare, where you will gain a fascinating insight into his childhood with its typical parlour, bedrooms, kitchen, buttery and the glove-maker’s workshop used by John, Shakespeare’s father. Enjoy free time in the afternoon to stroll through the streets and alleyways prior to returning to Moreton-in-Marsh for a farewell dinner reminiscing with fellow BE travellers and sharing the fond memories of this wonderful journey through the Cotswolds

Day 10 – Monday, September 18 B Moreton-In-Marsh To London, Heathrow Transfer from Moreton-in-Marsh to London, Heathrow (2 ½ hours) where the tour will end.

Transfers will be scheduled to arrive at London, Heathrow at 12:00noon. Please allow 3 hours for international flights with a departure from Heathrow no earlier than 3:00pm.

Goods & Services Tax: The Canadian Government's G.S.T. and/or H.S.T. may apply to the cost of your tour. Your vacation consultant will advise of the additional G.S.T./H.S.T. charges, if any, that apply to the cost of your tour. Baggage: Maximum baggage allowance on motoroach tours is one large suitcase per person. All hand luggage must be carried personally aboard the motorcoach or aircraft. Although the Tour Manager and Coach Driver supervise the transfer of luggage to and from the motorcoach and every effort is made to handle luggage as carefully as possible, Ellison Travel & Tours cannot assume liability for loss, theft or damage due to breakage, fire, water, etc. Accommodation: All hotels listed in itineraries have been confirmed at the time of printing, but are subject to change. On most tours, TWIN refers to two persons sharing one room with two beds; however, in some areas, only one double bed may be available, so please specify at time of booking if you wish two separate beds. TRIPLE or QUAD usually refers to three or four persons sharing one room with two double beds, all with private bath. The tour organizer reserves the right to make any changes before or during the tour for the comfort and enjoyment of the passengers and it is agreed and understood that any increase in costs occasioned by such change shall be paid by the passengers or any decrease in costs occasioned by the change shall be refunded to the passenger. Force Majeure: Except where otherwise expressly stated in these conditions, we regret we cannot accept liability or pay any compensation where the performance or prompt performance of our obligations under our contract with you is prevented or affected by or you otherwise suffer any injury, damage, loss or expense of any nature as a result of “force Majeure”. In these conditions, “force Majeure” means any event which Ellison Travel & Tours or the supplier of the service(s) in question could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. Such events may include actual or threatened war, riot, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial dispute, natural or nuclear disaster, adverse weather conditions, disease, fire and all similar events outside our control. All tour itineraries are subject to change or cancellation without prior notice. Tour managers are subject to substitution where deemed necessary. Ellison Travel & Tours shall have no responsibilities beyond their refund of all monies paid by the passenger which is deemed to constitute full settlement. The tour organizer reserves the right to decline any person as a member of the tour at any time before or during the tour should such person's presence be considered detrimental to the interest, comfort and enjoyment of the other tour members. Persons leaving the tour during operation will not receive a refund of unused services. Ellison Travel & Tours, its agents and all passengers agree that conditions set out herein are part of the terms between the passenger and the tour organizer. Acceptance of the ticket for the tour or any deposit given to the tour organizer represents acceptance by the passenger of all the aforementioned conditions.
