His story…He heard about Jesus from Paul probably in Ephesus. Then to Colossae to preach and plant a church.

The gospel is bearing fruit and growing throughout the whole world, just as it is doing amongst you… v7

1. Bearing good fruit in every good work

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Eph 2:10As we do this •we are fulfilled•our burden is light

We’re change in God’s pocket.We make ourselves available.Joyful spontaneity.Long term commitment.

We can’t do every good thing we want to do.Or every good thing people expect us to do.But we do the ones God has prepared for us. •Avoid burnout and stress•Live sustainable lives

Stay connected to him.Abide; rest; rely.

Some stages of life are very full. Or our capacity is limited.Acknowledge this – and know that still God works in us. These are times to rely on him – and know that he does bring us through.

3. Having endurance & patience

It pleases God when we demonstrate patience and endurance. Patience: impossible people Endurance: impossible circumstances

God is in the business of redeeming our difficult relationships and impossible circumstances.

4. Have an attitude of gratitude

This is good for us! Gratitude increases the joy of living. Source of all goodness is God. Every good and perfect gift is from above. James 1:17
