A Day At School

Kim wakes up early. She has a bath,eats her breakfast, packs her snackbox in her bag, wears her schooluniform and trots off to the busstop.

There she meets her friends, Boband Jane. Bob's dad got him a puppylast week. Bob loves the puppy andhas named her Meg. Bob tells Kimand Jane that he is sad, because hewill not be able to see Meg allday.

Kim pats Bob on the back and offershim some candy to cheer him up.That makes Bob smile. Kim sharessome candy with Jane too. The kidsall suck on their candy and wait

for the bus.

Look! The bus is here. The busstops and the conductor opens thedoor. He smiles at the children."Good morning boys and girls.Careful. Mind the step."

The children step in one by one andsay hello to the conductor. Thenthey go find seats.

Kim sees her best friend Sera. Serais saving a seat for Kim. Kim sitsnext to her. Kim tells Sera abouther new doll house. "It has a tiny

wooden chest of drawers, a woodenbed, and tiny pillows." Kim says.

"Can I come play with your dollhouse?" Sera asks.

"Yes. Please bring some of yourkitchen toys and tea set too. Wecan set up a party at the dollhouse." Kim says as the bus stopsin front of the school.

"That is going to be fun!"

Sera and Kim sit together in class.Teacher says that they have to draweach other. Kim has fun drawingSera's curly hair, big round eyes,small nose and big smile. Seradraws Kim with her two long plaits,lotus eyes, pointed chin anddimples.

At snack time Sera and Kim sharetheir snacks. Sera has salad andKim has dry fruits.

After snack time they do somewriting. Today they learn theletter 'K'. "Yay, K is for Kim!"Kim says with a big smile.

Play time is the best part of theschool day. Sera and Kim love toswing. They also play hide and seekwith Bob and Jane.

Soon it is time to go home. Theyall get on the bus. The bus stopsnear Sera's house. Kim is sad tosay goodbye. But Sera's mama willbring her over in the evening toplay tea party with Kim and herdoll house. Kim is looking forwardto that.
