Material

What is research?
Research is another word for gathering information about something by asking the right question to get the information.
Examples of researchPlantation of research
Food research
Vehicle research

Example of new research1. Making a ‘green plastic’
from orange:
Adding a zinc catalyst to a mix of citrus fruits (orange) and carbon dioxide to produce a polylimonene carbonate (a petroleum based plastic)
2. Development of building
Using plastic composite in development building. This material can make the building more though and stand longer

The important of doing research
To complete our needed
To discover something based on environmentally friendly
To give profit to our country by selling the product of the research
To develop our country
![Page 5: 9.7(a) Research and Development](https://reader035.fdocuments.in/reader035/viewer/2022062320/563db8de550346aa9a97b436/html5/thumbnails/5.jpg)
The responsibility in handling synthetic material
and their waste
One of the method we can responsible in handling synthetic materials is by:
RECYCLING
WHAT IS RECYCLE?Recycled is converting used items back into raw materials,
then making new product with them
![Page 6: 9.7(a) Research and Development](https://reader035.fdocuments.in/reader035/viewer/2022062320/563db8de550346aa9a97b436/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
The important of recycle
Conserves our valuable natural resources
Reduce the need to put as much waste into our
landfillTo avoid pollution
![Page 7: 9.7(a) Research and Development](https://reader035.fdocuments.in/reader035/viewer/2022062320/563db8de550346aa9a97b436/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)
Examples of responsible in handling synthetic material and
their waste in those place:
1. In library
Students can used the internet to tap the local newspaper.
By using computer to get information, we can save papers
Reduces energy consumption
Reduces pollution by eliminating the need to drive from place to place to get what we need
![Page 8: 9.7(a) Research and Development](https://reader035.fdocuments.in/reader035/viewer/2022062320/563db8de550346aa9a97b436/html5/thumbnails/8.jpg)
2. In school canteen
Students can bring their lunches in food container which they can wash and use over and over again
3. In classroom
Students can recycle the paper that have been used
and make money from it
![Page 9: 9.7(a) Research and Development](https://reader035.fdocuments.in/reader035/viewer/2022062320/563db8de550346aa9a97b436/html5/thumbnails/9.jpg)
Plastics and paper that havebeen used to wrapThe vegetables, fish and fruits
4. In kitchen
5. In Garage

-Coffee cans and other kind of container can be wash and use to store button nails or thumbtacks
-Bottles, plastics, unused color paper can be used for arts and crafts for school projects.

Glass goes into the BROWN recycling bin.
Plastic items go into the ORANGE recycling bin.
