This is a critical component to help them succeed both on the GHSGT and EOCT’s. Go to www.studyisland.com School clubs have started, and our students are excited about having additional activities provided for them. Our cheerleading squad will begin competing soon, and our basketball teams will begin conditioning soon. Our first Parent Teacher night is scheduled for Thursday September 30, 2010. This meeting is mandatory for students who have a 74 or below average in their classes. Teachers will send out notifications to you beginning next week. If you are not counted in the mandatory number, you can still come by to visit our teachers. Please review the important dates for the week. They are posted in this update. Keeping up with student progress and assignments is as easy as sending an email. Connect with your child’s teacher by emailing them at any time. Email addresses are listed on the Teacher Website page at www.techhighschool.org Students also complete assignments on Study Island (www.studyisland.com ). Ask your child for their username and password to view their progress or request their information from your child’s teacher. School LunchWhen is the deadline for FEF?

All Federal Eligibility Forms must have been turned in by September 17th. All students who were previously on free lunch and did not turn in the form will be made full price on the 21st.

Scholarship SpotlightSimon Youth Foundation Scholarships

The SYF Community Scholarship Program is available to high school seniors living near a Simon property who plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational/technical school. One-time scholarships are awarded in the amount of $1,400. In addition, four-year renewable Awards of Excellence are awarded in ten communities: Atlanta, Austin (new for 2011), Boston, Dallas, Indianapolis, Miami, New York, Orange County, Orlando and Seattle/Tacoma (new for 2011). Each award is worth $2,500 per year.
