• Even if you have no products or a business location, you can still do these steps and “establish” your business right away.

• For class, all steps are optional, but canbe helpful in impressing the judges.

The County Website• Go to your county’s website to search for your

name.• For San Diego County try:

http://arcc.co.san-diego.ca.us/arcc/services/fbn/search.aspx

• Enter your future business’ name into the “Business Name” search field.

• A list of all names should come up.• If you see it, you cannot use it. However, try to

alter the name a little and you might be in luck.

type in to reach your website, such as, www.mycompany.com.
