The Of�ce of New Student Orientation &Academic Initiatives (NSOAI) would like toof�cially congratulate you on your admissionto the University of Pennsylvania! AlthoughNSO will take a virtual approach this year,the familial feeling that is experiencedduring Penn’s transfer orientation will notfade. In collaboration with Penn’s TransferStudent Organization (TSO), we aredesigning speci�c programming catered toyou and your needs as a transfer student.We understand that you are not new tocollege life but, you are new to life at Penn.Therefore heading into this academic year,our hope is that we provide all the necessaryconnections and support to make youradjustment to Penn not just educational,but enjoyable, while adhering to the Stateand University guidelines.

Dear Transfer Students,

The Penn Transfer Student Organization isthrilled to welcome you to our home, whichis now yours too. Founded in 2011 by a close-knit group of students who saw the need tobuild the transfer community on campus,our organization has two goals: facilitatingyour adjustment to Penn and ensuring thatyou have a supportive community for theentirety of your time here. While weunderstand that you may be nervous aboutyour transition, TSO is here to help make thisprocess as smooth as possible. In the past,



TSO has had many opportunities fortransfers to interact and form connectionsboth during and after New StudentOrientation, including our mentorshipprogram, small group conversations topromote wellness, and various social eventsthroughout the year.

The following are a few ways you can beginconnecting with the transfer communitybefore arriving on campus. Please �ll out thisform in order to join our listserv so that wecan send you our newsletter and update youon events throughout the semester. We alsoinvite you to �ll out the mentorshipapplication, allowing you to participate inour program that pairs new transfers withupperclass students. The Facebook page foryour transfer class is an excellent way to chatwith your fellow transfers, all of whom aregoing through the same experience as you.And �nally, if you have not done so already,please like TSO’s of�cial Facebook page,follow our Instagram, and feel free to take alook at our website if you are curious abouthow to get involved at Penn or what life atPenn may look like.
