Overview This document describes the enhancements and fixes included in China Telecom test suites LTE-RA package revision A18 and provides the installation instructions.

NOTE: China Telecom 5G NSA Basic Function test suite requires Spirent Radio Access: LTE version 10.0.1.

China Telecom VoLTE Dual SIM test suite, China Telecom VoLTE Video Quality test suite, China Telecom VoLTE test suite, China Telecom VoLTE EVS Audio Quality test suite, and China Telecom VoLTE Audio Quality test suite require Spirent Radio Access: LTE version 10.0.0.

All other China Telecom test suites require Spirent Radio Access: LTE version 6.0.1 for China Telecom.

Software Download Instructions To download China Telecom test suites LTE-RA package revision A18, perform the following steps: 1. Connect the external USB drive to your PC. 2. Log into the Spirent Customer Service Center website at http://support.spirent.com using

the e-mail address and password assigned to you by Spirent. 3. On the Customer Service Center page, click the Downloads tab.

Installation Instructions for 5G NSA Test Suite This section describes how to install the China Telecom 5G NSA Basic Function test suite. These test suites require Spirent 8100 Mobile Device Test System Radio Access: LTE version 10.0.1. Perform the following steps: 1. Access the 8100 Services Management Utility on the SC10. 2. Activate the LTE RA 10.0.1 personality. 3. Connect the external USB drive to an available USB 2.0 port on the SC10. 4. On the SC10, log into the Controller PC. 5. Using Windows Explorer, copy the folder containing the China Telecom test suites

(China Telecom LTE-RA Test Suites vA18) from the external USB drive to the D: drive on the Controller PC.

6. On the Controller PC, select Start > Control Panel. The All Control Panel Items window appears.

7. Click on Programs and Features. The Programs and Features window appears.

8. Select Wireshark 1.12.6-Spirent (32-bit), and click the Uninstall button. The Programs and Features dialog box appears prompting you to confirm your action.

9. Click the Yes button. 10. After the program is uninstalled, close the Programs and Features window. 11. Using Windows Explorer, go to the folder D:\China Telecom LTE-RA Test Suites

vA18\For LTE RA 10.0.1\Spirent Wireshark. 12. Double click on the file Wireshark-win32-2.9.0-01.exe.

The Welcome to the Wireshark 2.9.0-01 32-bit Setup Wizard window appears. 13. Click the Next button.

Access the 8100 Services Management Utility on the SC10. 2. Activate the LTE RA 10.0.0 personality. 3. Connect the external USB drive to an available USB 2.0 port on the SC10. 4. On the SC10, log into the Controller PC. 5. Using Windows Explorer, copy the folder containing the China Telecom test suites

(China Telecom LTE-RA Test Suites vA18) from the external USB drive to the D: drive on the Controller PC.

Non-VoLTE Test Suites Installation Instructions NOTE: This section describes how to install the non-VoLTE China Telecom test suites. The non-VoLTE China Telecom test suites require Spirent 8100 Mobile Device Test System Radio Access: LTE Version 6.0.1 for China Telecom.

To install the non-VoLTE China Telecom test suites, you must perform the following steps: 1. Install the test suites on Spirent 8100 Mobile Device Test System Radio Access: LTE

Version 6.0.1 for China Telecom. 2. Configure Test Manager. 3. Configure the Application Server. 4. Update Spirent Data Client on the Data Client laptop. 5. Upgrade the UXM build to 1.6.10.0. 6. Install the UXM license. 7. Update the UXM IP address and change the Ethernet cable connection from rear to front. 8. Update the register file. 9. Update the scenario file. 10. Configure UXM registry TCP settings. 11. Calibrate the X-Series platform.

Step 1: Install the Non-VoLTE Test Suites Perform the following steps: 1. Connect the external USB drive containing China Telecom test suites LTE-RA package

revision A18 to an available USB 2.0 port on the SC10. 2. Make sure the SC10 is running the LTE RA CN v6.0.1C for 8100 BX-Series personality. 3. Log into the Controller PC. 4. Using Windows Explorer, copy the folder containing the China Telecom test suites from the

external USB drive to the D: drive on the Controller PC. 5. Go to the folder D:\China Telecom LTE-RA Test Suites vA18\For LTE -RA v6.0.1C. 6. Perform one of the following steps: If you want to install all Legacy CT test suites including the Non CDMA test suites, go to

the folder D:\China Telecom LTE-RA Test Suites vA18\For LTE -RA v6.0.1C\For CT All Legacy Test Suites.

If you want to install only the non-CDMA test suites, go to the folder D:\China Telecom LTE-RA Test Suites vA18\For LTE-RA v6.0.1C\For CT Non CDMA Test Suites.

7. Double-click on the file setup.exe. A Spirent message box appears.

All Legacy and Non CDMA CT test suites are moved automatically to their respective folders as shown in the following figure.

35. After the connection is established, click on Instrument > Install Firmware Update. The Open dialog box appears.

f. Under SR8078 Test Configuration Unit, select the LTE Mode Configuration file applicable to the test theme.

g. When you are finished, save the platform file by selecting File > Save.

NOTE: While executing the tests, make sure all test cases reference the platform file you have just created.

3. Create a new UE file in Test Manager. a. In Test Manager, select File>New>UE File. b. Using the File menu, save this file and close it.

4. Create a new session file in Test Manager. a. In Test Manager, select File>New>Session File.

A new session file appears. b. In the new session file, select CommLogging->"Comm Logging Enabled" to true. c. Using the File menu, save the session file and close it.

Step 3: Configure the Application Server This procedure will improve data throughput for CA DT test cases. Perform the following steps: 1. On the Controller PC, click the QEMU menu at the top, left corner of the display, and select

QEMU (Application Server). The Application Server desktop appears.

2. Click Start, and select All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt. The Command Prompt window appears.

3. At the command prompt, type netsh int tcp set heuristics disabled and press the ENTER key.

4. At the command prompt, type netsh interface ipv4 show subinterface and press the ENTER key. A list of network interfaces is displayed.

5. Type netsh interface ipv4 set subinterface Local Area Connection mtu=1460 where Local Area Connection is the interface name that appears in the list of network interfaces.

6. Press the ENTER key. 7. Close the Command Prompt window. 8. Click Start, type regedit in the Search programs and files box, and press the ENTER key.

The Registry Editor window appears. 9. Locate the following registry key:

Step 4: Update Spirent Data Client on the Data Client Laptop Perform the following steps: 1. Connect the external USB drive containing China Telecom test suites LTE-RA package

revision A18 to an available USB 2.0 port on the Data Client laptop. 2. On the USB drive, go to the folder LTE-RA Test Suites vA18\China Telecom LTE-RA Test

Suites vA18\For LTE-RA v6.0.1C\For CT All Legacy Test Suites\Spirent Data Client and double-click on the file setup.exe.

3. Follow the on-screen prompts to install Spirent Data Client version 1.16.256.0. 4. When the installation is complete, go to the next section to upgrade the UXM build.

Step 5: Upgrade the UXM Build to 1.6.10.0 To upgrade the UXM, perform the following steps: 1. Select Start > All Programs > Keysight E7515A UXM > Keysight LTE Application. 2. Select the System tab in the lower section of the GUI. 3. Select Start > Control Panel > All Control Items > Programs and Features, and make

sure the following software versions are installed: Keysight E7515A UXM Keysight E7530A/E7630A LTE/LTE-A Application Keysight E7515A Platform

4. Close the E7515A Control Panel and Keysight E7630A LTE/LTE-A Application. 5. Select Start > Log off. 6. Log into the UXM using the following credentials:

9. When prompted to completely remove the selected application and all of its features, click the Yes button.

Yes, I want to restart my computer now to restart the instrument. 13. After the instrument restarts, select Start > Log off. 14. Log into the UXM using the following credentials:

15. Connect the external USB drive to the UXM. 16. Open Windows Explorer, and go to the following folder on the external USB drive:

WARNING! Do not turn off the instrument during the installation.

19. When the installation is complete, restart the instrument. 20. After the instrument restarts, wait until the UXM box status becomes green.

Step 6: Install the UXM License Perform the following steps: 1. Install the latest version of your purchased software onto your chosen PC (that is, the PC

you used to generate the Host ID). 2. Copy the attached license file onto a USB storage device. 3. Connect the USB storage device to the host PC. 4. Open License Manager in the UXM Control panel. 5. Go to File->Install and choose the path of new license. 6. Go to the next section to update the UXM IP address and change the Ethernet cable

connection from rear to front.

Step 7: Update the UXM IP Address and Change the Ethernet Cable Connection from Rear to Front Perform the following steps: 1. Plug in the same cable to the front Ethernet port on the UXM.

Known Issues This section describes the software-related known issues in this release.

China Telecom CDMA-LTE Mobility The following issues are applicable to the China Telecom CDMA-LTE Mobility test suite:

Product China Telecom CDMA-LTE Mobility Description When CDMA-LTE Mobility test cases are run overnight, the UE may

randomly fail to access the LTE network. Impact There is no RRC connection request message in the CS8 IT result log, and

the currently running test case fails. However, subsequent test cases recover automatically.

Workaround Re-run the test case. Disposition There are currently no plans to fix this issue. Use the workaround specified

above.

Product China Telecom CDMA-LTE Mobility Description When CDMA-LTE Mobility test cases are run overnight, there is a very small

possibility (less than 1%) that the E2010S cells enter a critical state. Impact The currently running test case fails. However, subsequent test cases

recover automatically. Workaround Re-run the test case. Disposition There are currently no plans to fix this issue. Use the workaround specified

above.

China Telecom VoLTE EVS Audio Quality The following issues are applicable to the China Telecom VoLTE EVS Audio Quality test suite.

Product China Telecom VoLTE EVS Audio Quality Description The Configure IMS Client API (ConfigureIMSClientAPI_2) fails occasionally

during batch execution. Impact The test case fails and displays 'Failed to ConfigureIMSClientAPI_2 error.' Workaround Re-run the test case. Disposition Spirent is targeting to fix this issue in a future release.

China Telecom VoLTE Dual SIM The following issues are applicable to the China Telecom VoLTE Dual SIM test packs.

China Telecom LTE Data Throughput Test Cases NOTE: This section covers the platform configurations for China Telecom LTE Data Throughput, China Telecom LTE Data Throughput - SRLTE, and China Telecom LTE Data Throughput - SVLTE test packs.

When LTE DT UL and Bi-directional test cases are run, the UL throughput value may decrease randomly, and UL NACK will be observed at the same time. To temporarily solve this issue, configure the system using the following steps before running China Telecom LTE Data Throughput test cases: 1. Ensure all system components are installed and connected according to B200 LTE Data &

IRAT.pdf and B200 LTE SVDO config guide.pdf. These PDFs are located in the folder Spirent Manuals on the Controller PC desktop.

2. Ensure all software is installed and configured on the SC10. 3. Connect the RF cables according to the UE antenna mapping types based on the following

table. Follow the steps in the appropriate section to cable the RF for the respective UE antenna mapping type.

4. In Test Manager, open the required platform file. 5. After selecting the correct instruments, perform one of the following steps to set the LTE

mode to the correct mode: If SR3452 #1 Enable is false, set LTE Mode to Dedicated Mode. If SR3452 #1 Enable is true, set LTE Mode to SVDO Configuration 5.

6. Verify the following settings: a. SR3452 Duplex Mode is set to false b. All other settings in the platform file are consistent with the tests.

7. Save the platform file. 8. For UE antenna mapping types #2 and #3, perform the steps in “Configuring Mapping Type

#2” and “Configuring Mapping Type #3 to set the correct loss value into the UE file. 9. Make sure that the other settings in the UE file are consistent with the tests, and then save

the UE file. 10. Run the test case.

China Telecom LTE Data Throughput The following issues are applicable to the China Telecom LTE Data Throughput test packs.

Product China Telecom LTE Data Throughput Description Downlink throughput does not reach pass criteria. Impact The test case fails. Workaround Configure the Registry Editor on the Client laptop with the

following commands, and re-run the test case.

1. Connect the UE to the Client laptop. 2. On the Client laptop, install the appropriate driver

for the UE. 3. On the Client laptop, select Start, type regedit,

and press the ENTER key. The Registry Editor window appears.

4. In the Registry Editor window, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\NetworkCards\#, and get the service name corresponding to the description. The following figure shows a sample of the service name corresponding to the description.

5. In the Registry Editor window, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\TCPIP\Parameters\Interface\xxxx, where xxxx is the service name from Step 4.

6. Right-click on the blank area, and create a key with the following attributes: • type: REG_DWORD • name: TCPAckFrequency

7. Double-click on TCPAckFrequency, and set the value to 13.

8. Reboot the Client laptop. Disposition Spirent is targeting to fix this issue in a future release.

China Telecom CA Data Throughput The following issues are applicable to the China Telecom CA Data Throughput test packs.

Product China Telecom CA DT Description Sometimes the routing table is not added through test script. If the test case

fails with Add static route, you must manually add the route in the Controller PC and the Application Server.

Impact The test case fails. Workaround Perform the following steps:

1. On the Controller PC, open the Command Prompt window and enter the following command to add a static route: route add -p 192.168.81.1 192.168.0.5

2. On the Application Server, open the Command Prompt window and enter the following command to add a static route: route add -p 192.168.81.1 192.168.0.70

Disposition Spirent is targeting to fix this issue in a future release.

Product China Telecom CA DT Description Sometimes the UE fails to assign the IPv6 address after enabling tethering

to the Client laptop. Impact IPv6 Data Throughput Test cases fail due to an Add Static route failure.

Workaround None.

Disposition Spirent is investigating this issue currently

LTE-RA 10.0.0/10.0.1 Platforms The following issues are applicable to the LTE-RA 10.0.0/10.0.1 platforms.

Product WTS122-CA Description In a TDD topology, the VoLTE call is interrupted when the UE is configured

with SPS, ROHC, and DRX. Impact The VoLTE call is disconnected. Workaround None. Disposition Spirent is targeting to fix this issue in a future release.

Product IMS Client Description In Test Manager, one of the following messages appears intermittently:

• Error: Create IMS Client Failed. • Error: Register IMS Client Failed.

Product IMS Client Description If you want to run tests on an LTE-RA platform version earlier than 7.0.0,

do NOT change the version of the IMS Client on the Data Client laptop. Impact If you “downgrade” the IMS Client on the Data Client laptop, a Create IMS

failure occurs, or the IMS Client crashes. The IMS Client cannot be used further. The following figure shows the Create IMS Client Failed error message in Test Manager.
