From the desk of the Principal.... Hai Semua! (Hi everyone)

Our final week of Term 1 is here (albeit a short one!) and it’s going to be an extremely busy week at that! Today we’ve had the Indian Potters visit. Every student present experienced using the potters wheel and making their very own pot. Our thanks to Sandra Bowkett who brings the potters (Manori and Jagdish ) to our school every two years.

Saturday’s Working Bee saw the playground equipment installation just about completed. During the holidays the remaining works will be completed (retaining walls and mulch will be placed in this area) With luck this play area will be ready for use at the start of next term.

Have you seen our new School Bell? If you haven’t, it’s on one of the posts of the rotunda. We are very grateful for this generous donation to our school. We’d also like to express our gratitude to Jamie from Irvsworks for the generous donation of the load of mushroom mulch for our vegetable gardens.

Tomorrow our students will all compete at cross country. The Grade 1-6 students will travel by bus, leaving our school promptly at 9:15am. The Prep students will complete their cross country event at 2:45 p.m. We’re hoping the Grade 1-6 students will be back at school by then so they can cheer the little folk on.

On Thursday the Grade 5/6 students will be participating in the first session of the Young Leaders Program along with students from across the cluster. Students will work collaboratively to develop leadership skills and build their own leadership capacity, particularly with speaking in larger groups.

How has your child progressed with their learning goals this term? What have you celebrated and what areas are still outstanding? Are the outstanding areas things you can assist them with over the holidays or do you require some assistance from the classroom teacher? These questions are certainly worth reflecting on with your child prior to the holidays .

Assembly will commence at 1:30pm on Friday. Staff and students will showcase the learning that has taken place over the past term. School will be dismissed at 2:30pm when our School Council AGM will be held. All welcome.
