Parents can register for parent portal in the main office. Course Overview – Holt Mathematics Course 2 provides a bridge between elementary arithmetic and algebra. Course 2 aligns with the new Common Core Standards and brings high school algebra and geometry to the middle school. 1st Nine Weeks – Operations with rational numbers 2nd Nine Weeks – Expressions and Equations 3rd Nine Weeks – Proportional relationships and Inferences 4th Nine Weeks –Geometry and Probability Online Textbook – Holt mathematics Course 2 Students can access the textbook, helpful tutorials, and extra practice problems at: : http://my.hrw.com . The username and password is the same for all students U: _______________________ P:________________________ Expectation/Rules All school policies concerning behavior, tardiness, and dress will be followed and enforced. The school’s point system will be used in class as a means of discipline. Grading Policy Grades will be determined by assignments such as homework, class work, quizzes, notebooks, and tests. There will be Commom Core projects and activities throughout the year. The grades will be weighted as shown below: Class work/Projects 40% Homework 15% Tests/Quizzes 20% Mid Term 10% 9 Weeks Exam 15% Absence It is the student’s responsibility to see me concerning missed work. You have three days to make arrangements to make up work. If students are absent on test day they must take the exam upon their return.

Special Note: Late work is accepted at a rate of 10 pts per day. After the 5th day the work will NO LONGER BE ACCEPTED. Allowed limited late work to 3 late assignments 1st 9 weeks, 2 late the 2nd 9 weeks, 1 late the 3rd 9 weeks, and 0 late the 4th 9 weeks.
