About Imago DeiImago Dei Middle School, established in 2005, serves boys and girls in the

5th through 8th grades from eligible families in Tucson. We are focused on educating the whole child and breaking cycles of poverty.

Admission is based on qualification for the National School Lunch Program.

Imago Dei is committed to:

• Faith-based education nurturing respect for all faiths and traditions

• Graduate Support Program for all grades and alumni

• Strong partnerships with families and community

• Extended day, week and year with free meals & all materials provided

• Small classes (20 students or fewer)

• Tuition-free education

Our annual cost per child is approximately $15,000. We operate as a tuition-free school due to the economic limitations of students’ families; therefore, donor support is essential for the success of our mission.

Imago Dei is modeled after the Epiphany School in Dorchester, MA.

Imago Dei has had another wonderful year. We continue to be dedicated to serving economically challenged children and families. The school is financially stronger than it has ever been and we are blessed to have founders, teachers and staff who believe in what we do. Our many supporters provide a full scholarship for all of our children.

This is an exciting time for the school, as we have been awarded a significant grant from Angel Charity for Children. This gift will allow us to purchase the building we are in during the next calendar year, realizing the most significant goal of the Board.

Thanks to you, Imago Dei Middle School has successfully launched a new decade of providing an exceptional private, tuition-free education to children and families yearning to live fully into their potential and dreams. Imago Dei is an outward and visible sign of your love for all children, your passion for justice and mercy, and your willingness to give abundantly.

This year we give special thanks to Angel Charity for Children for selecting Imago Dei as a 2016 Beneficiary, providing the down payment for the purchase of a permanent school home for our children and school in Downtown Tucson.

As we begin anew, let me be clear that there is still much work to be done. Our children and families need us as much as ever, if not more. Our dedicated team of teachers and staff who work tirelessly and give with gracious hearts – each day making real our commitment to teach children at all levels of learning and language acquisition – need our support too. And if that weren’t enough, we are blessed with an amazing leadership team who work to overcome challenges daily to serve the children we teach and love, and who make it possible for this special school to exist. And there are the basic resources we need simply to keep the lights on.

Many years ago, a wise board member observed that while the investment in a quality education can yield immediate results, the greatest impact will be felt years from now as these young people grow to become adults who contribute to our city and our nation, giving birth to new relationships and families, and shaping the world in which we live.

We are excited to begin a new decade of work with our children. Thank you for all you give with generous hearts. Thank you for blessing us.

Extraordinary supporters

The relationship we have with Imago Dei Middle School began with our acquaintance with those two wonderful women, Susan and Anne. We knew them from our membership at St. Philip’s in the Hills Episcopal Church where we had developed an admiration and respect for their ministry and work. When they told us of their plans to start a school for those children in the direst need for help and support, we were immediately supportive and offered our assistance.

Our first visit to the school was when it was held at St. Andrew’s with an enrollment of just five. We were so impressed with the children’s pride and attitude towards their school that we decided then that the school was where we could do the most good. Our next visit was after the school had moved to a larger location on 6th Avenue. Here we were met by young men and ladies so impressive and so eager to show us their school and its facilities. With each contact we’ve had with the students, we’ve been impressed with their development into mature young scholars.
