Google is on a quest to make everything as mobile friend-ly as possible. They have announced that this year they are implementing a “mobile first” algorithm change which means that sites that mobile friendly will be at the front of the pack.

Since more than 50% of Google searches are performed on a mobile device they want to make sure the searcher is receiving the information as fast as possible.

Do NOT go with the cheapest website host because you will be sharing the web server with hundreds of other websites. Pay a little extra and choose a better host. Ask them how many websites are on each server and what you can do to speed up your website.

When someone links to your website from their website they are essentially saying that they trust you.

Be sure you’re actually in Google’s database of busi-nesses by going to https://business.google.com

Search for your business by name or phone number.

If you’re not there, follow the instructions to add your business. You will receive a postcard in the mail within a week or so. Your business listing will be live within 24 hours of verifying your code.

Once your business is live be sure to completely fill out your Google My Business profile.

A citation is a mention of your business on another website that normally includes the business name, ad-dress and phone number. Common citations websites include YellowPages, Yelp, Superpages, etc.

Be sure you have your Name, Address and Phone number on the contact page of your website as well. It’s best when you have it listed on all of your web pages, possibly in the footer.

Pro Tip: Be sure to keep the formatting of the business name and address the same everywhere you list it. (If your business name has INC at the end, if your address includes a Suite 100, etc.)

As mentioned earlier Trust is a significant ranking factor. Your business receiving reviews tells Google a couple of things; Your business is real and People have an opinion of it.

There is no proof that bad reviews prevents your web-site from ranking higher, but it has been proven than people will decide whether to visit your establishment based on your reviews.

Google has it’s own review system, but it also pulls in reviews from other websites such as Facebook, etc. So be sure to get reviews in as many places as possible.
