ALASKA - From Rob Scobey, Senior Producer for International English: As I write this-our engineers in AnchorPoint, Alaska are in the final stages of completing repairs to the mesh antenna that sends the signal of KNLS to theEastern Hemisphere. Weather conditions finally improved enough to allow repair crews to have access to the site. For the time being-KNLS will operate off of one transmitter and antenna. So the English hour will be broadcast threetimes a day rather than the normal four broadcasts plus one simulcast. Our next step is to get the new transmitter-that is, the second of two transmitters-hooked up to the second antenna. Once that's done-the English hour will beback to our full schedule.(KNLS Website; via ADXN July magazine of ARDXC, via wwdxc BC-DX June 30)

9920 at 1522- UT, KNLS on June 20. Very nice to see them back. Lovely S=9+20 signal. This is my favouritereligious broadcaster, since the departure of HCJB. They actually have enjoyable programming and nice music. Notat all like the usual paid programmers that ramble on and on! Paved Paradise and put up a parking lot until 1525UT. Then into a movie review.(Walt Salmaniw-Masset cottage BC-CAN, DXplorer June 28)

Definitive information received from NBC for the Pacific Games 2015 (July 4th to 18th, 2015):The program you were listening to is part of our broadcast for the coverage of the 15th Pacific Games hosted by thecountry for the 3rd time. The first was in 1969 and the last was in 1991.

The current shortwave service is provided by Broadcast Australia from transmitters based in Townsville [25kWBrandon site, wb.]. This is a temporary measure so that the NBC can provide coverage of the games for the wholeof the country.

The NBC does have plans to purchase its own transmitters and go back to broadcasting on 4890 and 9675 kHz butthis might happen in 2016.

For your information tune into 6075 kHz from 5am to 8am (PNG time), 8am to 8 pm 9860 khz (PNGTime) or thePacific Islands frequency of 12025 kHz from 8am to 8pm (PNG time)(Ralph Perry-IL-USA, DXplorer July 6)

Noted again on July 11 at 0820-0845 UT with coverage f woman's 200 meter backstrokeevent, mentions of National Identity Theft System and 2015 Prime Minister Excellence Awards. Fair. Radio Marumby (Sistema Iensen de Comunicacao, Avenida Parana No 1885, Bairro Boa Vista, Curitiba - Parana)has reactivated shortwave 11725 kHz.

Exact azimuths aren’t given but the 6100 San Francisco beam should be closest to us, with Chicago 6165 secondbest, instead of last; so have they swapped them around, or running 6165 at low power? We should also check if6000 is really out of synch with the others. (gh, WOR 1781, DXLD)

13775, June 30 from *0600 UT carrier on a few seconds early, then cacophony of crowd noise and drumming, fairsignal, OM English announcement "This is the Nigerian Armed Forces Radio, on 11625 kHz, 25 meter band, and13775 kHz, 21 meter band" and then something about news, but all we hear is music interspersed with IDs. 0601UT yelling and drums, song; 0606 UT YL ID with meter bands only, more song, "stay with us"; 06.08:20 UT OM ID,"This is the Nigerian Armed Forces Radio", different music; dozing off, I quit at 0617 UT when signal is still fair.

Tnx to tip from Jeff White, this is a test via Issoudun, FRANCE, first airing this date, for seven days? It's brokered byRadio Miami International, which does other Nigerian SW business, but no mention of

From WRMI F_B June 26:"Radio Miami has arranged for a one-week test transmission of the Armed Forces Radio of Nigeria from theIssoudun, France relay site beginning Tuesday, June 30. The transmission, which will be directed to West Africa, will be from 0600 to 0700 UT on two frequencies. 11825 kHz will carry a Hausa-language program, and 13775 kHzwill carry an English-language program"

9On 11825 kHz, there was only a much weaker JBA signal, presumably that, but Bill Bingham in RSA says it was infact English // 13775 kHz, fading out before the hour was over. They were certainly confused about being on 11625kHz, where I continued to hear Vatican in French. Or did he really say 11825 kHz? I don't think so, but no furtherfrequency mentions heard. Meanwhile, RFI's sole English broadcast on 13725 kHz cut on in progress at *0559 UTwith a somewhat stronger signal from same site.

It seems the Nigerian Armed Forces have caught the shortwave bug. See also this story about cooperating withVoice of Nigeria, seemingly more about programming, without any time or frequency details and not referring to theRMI deal, which Jose Miguel Romero2 sent to the dxld yg on June 27. GUAM - 'WIND POWER,' SOLAR POWER KEEP KTWR BUSY"Construction" is an important word these days at TWR's transmitter facility on the Pacific island of Guam. The mostpressing work has involved getting KTWR, as the station is known, back to fully operational mode after TyphoonDolphin crashed into the island May 15, 2015. A generator and backup system provided power and water after thestorm, and repairs had to be made to antennas.

Not affected by the storm was a longer-term construction project at KTWR: the installation of solar panels. A testproject generating 23,000 watts of power for the facility has been deemed a big success, so now the team hopes tosecure the funding to boost that production level to 60,000 watts - enough to run the station all day.

The goal, of course, is to save on the increasingly expensive cost of electricity so those savings could be appliedtoward expanding the broadcast ministry to the many countries needing to hear the gospel across Asia. The KTWRteam is appealing to supporters for an all-out push this summer.(TWR Newsletter via July ADXN of ArDXC-AUS direct / via dxld July 1)

some comment on Thazin Radio, yes right :see Aoki / Nagoya Japan list now on 9590 kHz entry, 0130-0830, a n d 0930-1330 UT ex7345 kHz.

But location Naypyidaw mentioned in Aoki list is wrong, not exactly enough, see detail:Southern 'Naypyidaw' site contain only a single antenna of 5915 kHz channel.

Northern 'Pyin U Lwin' site, see 4 frequency channels below.

The Myanmar public radio has three shortwave installations on air

at Rangoon - old capital site of British Empire era, some older 30 and 50 degr antennas, but mainly on 356 and 176 degrees now, at 16 51 57.20 N 96 09 46.54 E <http://binged.it/QJ6TWk> <http://goo.gl/maps/AFw0x>

and Naypyidaw - new capital site, looks like a single corner reflector quadrant non-dir antenna at 20 10 51.01 N 96 08 41.04 E <http://binged.it/QJ7gjU> <http://goo.gl/maps/Sniyu>

and Pyin U Lwin - some Nautel / RIZ installations, I guess, antennas at 356 / 176 degr on 41/49 mb, and at 52 / 232 degrees on 31 mb, 20 14 15.37 N 96 08 03.17 E <http://binged.it/QJ8fAo> <http://goo.gl/maps/PXHAN>

see Google Earth od Google Maps images.

But never have been realized the PLANNED 60 mb antenna installation at 017/197degr, as BACKUP for Rangoon4725 / 5040 kHz, at northern Pyin U Lwin site.
