Rules

Art. 1: Cultural Ass. C. Debussy, in association with San Donà di Piave Municipality, organize the 8th INTERNATIONAL PIANO COMPETITION “CITTA’ DI SAN DONA’ DI PIAVE” - SPECIAL ONLINE EDITION 2021 in order to promote musical culture and draw young people to music’s study and development even in this difficult period of sanitary emergency caused by COVID-19. The competition, opened to italian and foreign applicants, will take place exclusively online via submission of a video recording of the performance sent by each competitor by 19/06/2021.

The results will be announced during a video-conference on platform Zoom, accessible through a public link on the competition’s website on 15/07/2021; they will be published on our website the same day 15/07/2021 immediately after the video-conference.

Art. 2: For all competitors of section 1 and 2 the program is free choice repertoire.

Art. 3: The competition is divided into 2 sections:

Section 1 - Categories

Cat. “First Notes” born after 01/01/2014; max. performance duration: 5 min.

Cat. A born from 01/01/2012 to 31/12/2013; max. performance duration: 7 min.

Cat. B born from 01/01/2010 to 31/12/2011; max. performance duration: 10 min.

Cat. C born from 01/01/2008 to 31/12/2009; max. performance duration: 12 min.

Cat. D born from 01/01/2006 to 31/12/2007; max. performance duration: 15 min.

Cat. E born from 01/01/2003 to 31/12/2005; max. performance duration: 18 min.

Cat. F born from 01/01/2000 to 31/12/2002; max. performance duration: 20 min.

Section 2: Piano Performance “Livia Mirella Perin”

Up to 35 year age; max. performance duration: 25 minutes. The presented program must include at least 2 pieces of different styles.

Art. 4: Competitors are allowed to apply to a higher max. age category, but not to a lower one.

Each competitor can sign up for both sections.

Art. 5: VIDEO RECORDING REQUIREMENTS:

- The video shall keep a fixed shot, with the complete figure of the candidate clearly visible;

- Any kind of editing or manipulation of the audio and video is forbidden, under penalty of disqualification;

- It is allowed to divide the program’s execution into several videos and then merge them in one single video, otherwise it can be recorded entirely without cuts between the pieces (works with many movements, variations, pieces, ecc must be recorded in only one take); - Every video must be recent and recorded in the years 2020/2021;

- The video must be uploaded on YouTube platform with the title:

"Competition “Città di San Donà di Piave” - NAME AND SURNAME OF THE COMPETITOR - SECTION AND CATEGORY”.

The competitor shall write the program performed in the description of the video;

- The link of the video must preferably be unique and inserted in the text of the e-mail;

- By submitting the registration, you automatically authorize the organization of the competition to use this video for the purposes related to the competition: sending the videos to the judges and publishing the videos on the website and on social channels.

Art. 6: The judges, excellent reputation musicians/masters, will not assign awards and scholarship in case they consider the competitors non-deserving.

Actions and decision of the judges are unquestionable and irrevocable. Judges that tutored/taught one or more of the competitors during the previous two years are requested to abstain from participating to dealings and votes related to the nominated competitors’ performances; the occurrence should be clearly reported in the competition’s memorandum.

In view of what reported above, the competitors are compelled to report in the application form the name of their teachers.

Art. 7: The list of competitors will be published on the following website: www.pianoconcorsosandona.jimdo.com .

Art. 8: According to the current legislation on the "Protection of personal data" (EU Regulation No. 2016/679 GDPR and Legislative Decree No. 196/03) we inform you that the data provided upon registration will be stored and used exclusively for the purpose of sending communications relating to the competition and that the data holder has the right to know, update, delete, correct the data, or oppose their use, in compliance with current legislation.

Art. 9: The registration for the competition implies the unconditional acceptance of these rules and any changes made by the Artistic Director and the Organizing Committee. The candidate, with his application, authorizes Associazione Culturale C. Debussy - according to the art. 97 of the law on the subject of copyright (L. 22.04.1941 n. 663) - to make audio-visual recordings of the performances and to broadcast them on any platform of the Association or linked to it and publish photos within promotional material of the Association or exhibit them during future events. In relation to this, the candidate may not claim rights or make financial claims against Associazione Culturale C. Debussy, and the same from any economic task and from any responsibility inherent to an incorrect use of the audio-visual material by the users of the website or by third parties.

Art. 10: The Management reserves the right to make any non-substantial changes to the present rules. The application to the competition entails the unconditional acceptance of the rules/regulations of the present announcement and authorizes the Management to publish names, surnames and videos of the competitors (including underages’ videos).

Absolute First min. scoring 98/100 will receive diploma and the scolarships reported here below:

Piano Performance € 1000,00 + 3 concerts

Other concerts and scholarships will be assigned between all partecipants.

To first prize (with scoring from 95/100 to 97/100): diploma

To second prize (with scoring from 90/100 to 94/ 100): diploma

To third prize (with scoring from 85/100 to 89/100): diploma

To fourth prize (with scoring from 80/100 to 84/100): diploma

All remaining competitors will receive the diploma/certificate of attendance.

Elevato Invitation

The absolute winners from the Internatioal Piano Competition Città di San Donà di Piave are invited to partecipate for free in the “Elevato Piano Competition International Youth”.

Diplomas will be sent via e-mail.

Judges reserve to assign ex-aequo prizes for all the sections; in this case the scholarships will be fairly divided among the winners.

The event isn’t included in: competitions and prize operations as per Art. 6 comma 1 of DPR 430/2001: consequently, as per Resolution n. 8/1251 of 28/10/1976, prizes will not be subjected at witholding tax. The responsibility and obligation to include the amount of the prize in their annual income tax return remains of the recipient.

The artistic director avails herself of the faculty to add other scholarships.

Concerts and Masterclasses:

- 1 Concert in Europe offered by Artist Management Koltun; - 2 Concerts in Madrid, Spain; - 2 Concerts in Leon, Spain, for Fundacion Eutherpe;

- 1 Concert in San Donà di Piave (VE), Italy, organised by Cultural aAssociation C.Debussy;

- 1 Concert in San Donà di Piave being defined;

- Scholarship for Masterclass in Naples, Italy, organised by Accademia aMusicale Europea and offered by M° Giuseppe Devastato;

- Scholarship for Mimas Music Festival “Summer Camp” in Procida Island a(NA), Italy, offered by M° Giuseppe Devastato;

- Scholarship for Musical Arts Madrid “Virtuoso Diploma” (high level amasterclass) in Madrid, Spain, offered by M° Giuseppe Devastato;

- Scholarship for Musical Arts Madrid “Summer Camp” (high level amasterclass) in Madrid, Spain, offered by M° Giuseppe Devastato;

- Prize “Accademia Amadeus”: free active partecipation to a Masterclass awith M° Alberto Nosè in Valeggio sul Mincio (VR), Italy, offered by aAccademia Amadeus Piano Project;

- 2 free Masterclasses at Cantiere Musicale Internazionale in Mileto (VV), aItaly, offered by M° Roberto Giordano;

- 2 Scholarships for the Musical Summer Course “Marco Allegri, per vivere ainsieme la musica” (XVIII Edition) in Faenza (RA), Italy, offered by M° aFrancesca Vidal;

- Free masterclass with M° Francesca Vidal in Veneto, Italy.

The Management of the competition relieves itself from any responsibility or eventual reimbursement of expenses and hospitality of the prize concerts.

Teaching Excellence Awards:

Honorary diploma to the teachers with the highest number of applicant students;

Honorary diploma to the teachers with the highest number of awarded students.

The registration must be effectuated no later than the day 19/06/2021.

- Application form, downloadable from: ffwww.pianoconcorsosandona.jimdo.com, filled in completely; - A copy of an identity document (also of a parent if the candidate is ffunderage) andffiscal code of the candidate (also of a parent if the ffcandidate is underage); - A photo of the candidate in the foreground in good resolution to be ffused for the competition’s graphics; - Accessible youtube link (not encrypted) to be inserted in the text of the ffe-mail; - Receipt of payment of the registration fee (net of expenses).
