Business process management is already included in ECM, but what we did was to add an extra layer into it where we allow people to decide when they want to start a business process management at any given point in their uti l isation of the technology. This is what we have been emphasising, where we add value to the user experience,” explains Sean Tang, Vice President, International Business, Laserfiche.

IOS application. “The Android application wil l be released at the end of this year but we are introducing it at GITEX 2013,” adds Tang.

The Middle East region is an important one for the company. It has risen to be the top international market for the company about two years ago. This is because, Tang says, companies in this market have a straightforward vision on what they want to accomplish. “They also realise that content management is not to do with only electronic content management but also paper based content. And where Laserfiche has had immense success with companies in the

Middle East is by providing a solution that taps into this large variety of content - both electronic and content based. We have solution that provides a natural transition from paper based to full electronic based content management. This provides organic growth,” explains Tang.

He adds that the channel can expect the company to invest in additional resources in the region. “We have a lot of exciting products coming up and we have a lot of successful experiences with customers in other markets and want to highlight that with customers here in this region on how the technology can be deployed.”

During the event, the company is showcasing its track record of successful installations and implementations made across major UAE projects over the last few years. According to Smartworld senior executives, the company has set a four-point objective for their participation at GITEX Technology Week 2013—achieve more exposure and awareness by featuring their

for us. It’s very diff icult to keep traction in the region if you don’t have somebody on the ground as a key point of contact.”

The vendor, which specialises in context-aware security intell igence, has seen decent growth in the EMEA region over the course of 2013 – Thurrell estimated the growth figure to be around 30 percent. And to keep the momentum going, BeyondTrust has appointed regional sales directors in various key areas around EMEA.

At the heart of the BeyondTrust’s product portfolio

is the BeyondInsight platform. According to Thurrell, it consists of various technologies to do with vulnerabil ity and management – made available through acquisitions. However, BeyondTrust has unified these technologies so that customers can make use of them through a single platform.

“Having this single-console approach to be able to manage both vulnerabil ity and privi lege in one place is pretty transformative to any security department,” Thurell explained.

latest range of ICT solutions; talk about the innovative deployments they have made in the UAE; generate more leads and reinforce relationships with existing clients and partners while at the same tap into potential project opportunities.

“All roads lead to the Dubai World Trade Centre as the region’s top ICT professionals and companies will be at this year’s GITEX Technology Week. Over the years, the event

has served as a strategic platform to discuss timely trends and issues in IT while also serve as a launching vehicle for the latest technologies and innovations,” said Hamza Achour, Marketing Executive, Smartworld. “We are looking forward to our presence here at GITEX as we are aiming to increase more awareness at what we can offer to potential clients. Participating will also give us the opportunity to touch base with various participants and leverage our diverse portfolio of services and products, from networking solutions to our core business of systems integration, cloud computing and managed services.”

At the show, Smartworld representatives will also be on hand

to share its successful track record of innovative deployments across major UAE projects, including the recent completion of the new IT system for the Al Maktoum International Airport (AMIA) and for the installation and implementation of a Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) network in Dubai World Central (DWC)--the Middle East region’s first-of-its-kind ‘Open and Equal Access’ network. The recent completion of the GPON network at the DWC has positioned the world’s first purpose-built aerotropolis and strategic initiative of the Government of Dubai into the ranks of prestigious gigabit capable precincts of the world and provides Next Generation Network (NGN) capabilities to ICT users located inside the area.

Watchguard launches cloud-ready network security visibility WatchGuard Technologies today announced a zero-install, public and private cloud-ready network security visibility solution at GITEX Technology Week 2013.

Watchguard Dimension will come standard with the company’s flagship unified threat management (UTM) platform and provides a suite of visibility and reporting tools that instantly isolates and distills actionable security issues and trends, speeding network professionals’ ability to set meaningful security policies.

“Around the world, network security pros tell us they are drowning in logs of data and find it time consuming – or nearly impossible – to identify key issues on their networks and make proper policy decisions,” said Dave R. Taylor, Vice President,

Corporate and Product Strategy, Watchguard.

The security vendor referred to a recent report from the SANS Institute, which found that only 10 percent of respondents felt confident in their organisations ability to analyse large data sets for security trends. This is despite 77 percent collecting logs and monitoring data from systems and security devices.

“Watchguard Dimension solves this challenge by instantly turning raw network data into actionable security intelligence in the Big Data visualisation style today’s users have come to expect,” Taylor said.

Dicar Networks is one customer of Watchguard Dimension. Its President, Armando Garcia, testified that the solution simplified his company’s security management.

“The nature of a UTM already ensures you have an integrated, multi-function security platform with the nimbleness needed to keep up with everything from cybercrime to compliance issues,” Garcia said.

“Watchguard Dimension takes that to the next level. It’s up and running in a few clicks. Plus, it’s so easy to use and understand, it helps take our customers from focusing on the ‘how’ of what they need to do, to the ‘why’ of what they need to do to address security issues on their networks.”

For managed security solution providers, the ‘Executive Reporting’ function is a particularly key feature of the solution.

Another cusomter, eMazzanti Technologies, requires strong UTM because its customers trust it to secure their networks.

“With Watchguard Dimension’s Executive Reports, it’s easy for my firm to provide automated reports that make it simple for customers to see and understand how we’re protecting their interests,” said Said Carl Mazzanti, CEO, eMazzanti.

“Further, because our mutual offering is cloud-based, we have easy and secure access on any device, anywhere to serve the breadth of our client base.”

Watchguard Dimension is now available with WatchGuard’s 11.8 launch of its XTM security platform. Other highlights include the addition of Watchguard data loss prevention (DLP) to the platform, an updated Web user interface compatible with mobile devices, and new flexibility in the configuration of VPNs in today’s more complex network environments.
