Standards for Australia’s Advantage NERA, Woodside Energy and Standards Australia have come together to co-host a four-day series of industry events to showcase Australia’s role in securing the $60 billion prize. Focussed on transforming the competitiveness of the global industry, the International Association of Oil and Gas Producers (IOGP) and the International Standards Organisation (ISO) Oil and Gas Technical Committee (ISO/TC67) will hold their Annual Plenary Meetings in Perth from 19–22 November 2018. Monday 19 November Woodside is hosting IOGP’s Standards Committee meeting, by invitation only. Tuesday 20 November and Wednesday 21 November Standards Australia is hosting the ISO/TC67 Plenary Meeting with the Australian mirror oil and gas committee ME-092, by invitation only. More than ever, operators, suppliers, contractors and drilling companies alike are aware of the need for and value of comprehensive sets of standards that provide greater consistency of safe practices worldwide. Key work areas include working together for improved standards, standards solution projects and standardisation of equipment specifications (JIP33), with supporting cultural change initiatives to: Clearly communicate the industry vision and business case for change to foster understanding. Role model standardisation by supporting industry collaboration efforts. Embed standardised technical specifications for procurement within their organisation through formal mechanisms. Provide the necessary capacity and capability to further drive standardisation.
