6Life-Changing Rules
All rules will inspire you to live a more focused and productive life.
Here are the 6 life-changing rules posted by Mr. Self Development. He said, “I believe motivation is something we all need daily in order to stay focused. I believe daily motivation is critical to success! So the question is, “Have you gotten your motivational ‘fix’ today?”
Rule # 1: The Rule of DoubleThe “Rule of Double” states that succeeding at any given task is at least “twice as hard” as you think.
The “Rule of Double” basically says that success is not as easy as it looks. This rule is a reminder that the price of success is high. Maya Angelou said, “If the grass looks greener on the other side, you can bet the water bill is higher.”
Remember that The reason many people don’t succeed is because they underestimate the amount of work requisite for success. Success usually requires at least twice as much work as you think. Oftentimes it requires three, four or even five times the amount of work.
This rule states that, “If you want to have a successful day, you must plan your day.”
Rule # 2 : The Rule of a Successful Day
Everyday write down three or four important tasks that you want to accomplish, and watch how your productivity levels increase. Wallace D. Wattles said, “Everyday is either a success or a failure, and it’s the successful days that get us what we want.”
Remember that Planned days are productive days! Unplanned days cause your weaknesses to flourish; weaknesses such as procrastination or even overeating are linked to unplanned days.
Rule # 3 : The 95/5 RuleThe “95/5 Rule” is like the “80/20 Rule” on steroids, and it states that five percent of the tasks you perform account for 95 percent of your results.
So quit wasting your time on unproductive activities, like checking e-mails or idle chatter. Focus your life on the activities that produce the greatest rewards. Focus on growing your business, or your family, or whatever your priority happens to be.
Remember that most people only accomplish a fraction of what they could accomplish because they spend a majority of their time working on meaningless tasks.
Rule # 4 : The Rule of PurposeThe “Rule of Purpose” states that everything created has a purpose. This rule also states that failure to understand that purpose will almost certainly result in “misuse.”
This is why it’s imperative that you discover your purpose and dedicate your life to fulfilling it, you don’t want to live an unfulfilled life. You were created for a specific reason; there is something you’re supposed to be doing. You need to discover it, and do it.
Rule # 5 : The Rule of ConsequencesThe “Rule of Consequences” offers a solution to making important decisions.
I’m often asked, “Should I go after my dreams,” and the answer is, “Can you live with the consequences if you fail?” If you can live with the consequences if you fail, then you should go after your dreams, if you are unwilling to deal with the consequences of failure, then don’t go after your dreams.
The “Rule of Right Direction” states that if you keep-on traveling in the right direction, you will eventually arrive at your intended destination.
Rule # 6 : The Rule of Right Direction
Apostle Paul said, when he was going through a tough time, he said, I’m troubled on every side, yet not distressed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed!
We often get side-tracked, derailed, or “depressed” on the road to success. Instead of pushing through we give up.
You must fight for what you want! Don’t get “depressed” when things get hard. Remember, it’s darkest just before dawn. Tough times will come on the “road to success,” …but you have to keep on moving!
What are you saying Mr. Self Development? I’m saying that if you just keep on heading to your destination, despite the circumstances, you will arrive there!
