    1. PURPOSE & SCOPE:This specification outlines the procedure for identifying stress critical lines for the ADCO-QUSAHWIRA Full Field Development Project. They are issued for the guidance of StressEngineers performing stress analysis for the project.

    This Procedure provides stress criticality criteria and guidelines to ensure that the piping

    systems for the project are in accordance with the code requirements of ASME B31.3,Process Piping and DEPs.This Project Procedure covers minimum criteria for identification of the stress critical lines.

    4. CRITICAL LINE SELECTION CRITERIA:

    4.1. Critical Line List:

    The guidelines in this specification shall be used by the Lead Stress Engineer to create aCritical Line List based on the latest issued P&IDs, Design Conditions, Line Schedule.

    The critical line list identifies lines from the piping line list which meet the criticalitycriteria outlined in section 4.2.

    Lines identified from the stress categories within section 4.2 as being stress critical are tobe identified on the Critical Line List using the following nomenclature against each line asapplicable:

    4.1.1. Criticality Codes:

    Criticality codes to appear in the Critical Line List are to be specified as follows:

    F = Fired Heaters

    P = Pumps

    TU =Turbines

    K = Compressors

    A = Air Fin Cooler

    R =Reactor

    C =Column

    TK = Tankage

    S = Safety / Relief Valves

    O =Others

    MSM = Multiselector Manifold4.2. Extent of Piping Analysis:

    Lines that are carbon copies of previously analyzed lines(s) with the same boundaryconditions do not require re-analysis.

    Lines to be defined as either category 1, 2, 3 or 4. Lines that are in categories 1, 2 and 3are to be listed in the critical line list, which shall define the category of piping of each line.Category 1, 2 and 3 are to be analyzed to the levels as defined below as a minimum orhigher if in the opinion of the stress engineer or checker where the system warrants ahigher category.

    4.2.1. Category 1 Pipe:

    Lines falling into this category are to be brought specifically to the attention of the LeadStress Engineer. The level of investigation will be established on an individual case basis.This review is to be carried out very early in the project and prior to any formal analysis forthe following conditions:

    a) Large diameter pipes where the pipe diameter exceeds 36 (DN900).

    b) Lines in category M fluid service (per ASME B31.3).

    c) Lines in category 2 that, in the judgment of the analyst should have a criticality in

    excess of those required for category 2.d) Lines in service below 46C.

    e) Process lines connected to Compressors. (Top/Top nozzles).

    f) Lines using vacuum stiffener rings.

    g) Non-metallic piping.
