• Nepal is situated in one of the high disaster risk area • Disaster Risk Management is one of the prioriJes of the Government of Nepal and Donors
• Pokhara potenJal to mulJ hazard reoccurrence like: – Flood, Avalanche – Land Cave in – Earthquake Prone Area – Need to reinforce Building Code implementaJon – Poor and Vulnerable communiJes

To increase the resilience of poor and vulnerable people, especially women, to mi3gate, prepare for, effec3vely respond to and overcome the impact of mul3ple hazards in Pokhara Sub-‐Metropolitan
Goal
Impact • Poor and vulnerable people in Nepal are less at risk from mulJple hazards • CommuniJes manage and miJgate risks from mulJple hazards • Infrastructure and public buildings are protected
• Capacity of communiJes is enhanced to reduce hazards and impact of disasters through collecJve local acJons.
• NaJonal and local level policy and pracJce are influenced (based on project and past experiences)
• Awareness of the target stakeholders is raised on disaster preparedness at each wards and Sub Metropolitan
• Small scale miJgaJon measures contribute to reducJon of vulnerabiliJes in schools and communiJes
• Resilience of communiJes increased through improved financial (also human, social and physical) assets

• An innovaJve approach to best fit insJtuJonal experJse for resilience building.
• ImplementaJon in close coordinaJon and collaboraJon with local government agencies/Sub-‐Metropolitan/NGO/Media/private sectors
