A Note from the Coordinator —Something for Everyone!

Is it possible that Thanksgiving and Christmas are just around the corner? It’s a busy time of year, but let’s not forget to take time to enjoy Minnesota in the fall. Don’t you love the fall colors and cool, crisp autumn air? As we see the kids boarding the school buses, let’s take some time to make plans for ourselves. Browse through our booklet and choose a few activities to get involved with so you can stay active and healthy. We’ve been busy putting together a score of options so that there’s something for everyone!

Check out a variety of art classes, museum trips, day trips and out to lunch trips. We have some special event gatherings in the 5-5-1 Club planned too, including: Veterans Day, Warren Hanson & A Cup of Christmas Tea, a Christmas dinner, and a New Years Eve party. These are just a few things for you to consider, but be sure to go through the booklet so you don’t miss a thing!

— Geri Rutz, 5-5-1 Club CoordinatorPlease add my name to the 5-5-1 Club Program Booklet mailing list to receive a booklet every 2 months. It’s FREE!

A Christmas Carol Reading & ProgramMonday, December 3Program # 1203

Whether we read it aloud, with family and friends, or open the pages on a chilly winter evening to savor the story in solitude, Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol is a very special holiday experience. Those memorable characters—Ebenezer Scrooge, Tiny Tim, Bob Cratchit, and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future—remind us with laughter and tears how the true Christmas spirit comes from giving with love.

Read along and learn about Charles Dickens, the times in which he wrote this little classic, and the transformation of a hard-hearted, hard-voiced miser into the man who gradually “melts into humanity.” Presentation accompanied by slides.

It’s FREE!
