4myplanet is a unique adventure that will enable you to experience the world of offshore racing while actively contributing to a citizenship enterprise.

Alexia Barrier, offshore sailor and Founder of 4myplanet, offers a model of crowdfunded financing. She wishes to regroup her partners, would they be companies, communities, universities or individuals, onto a common platform, to enable them to cooperate towards a common challenge.

Since 2009, 4myplanet was built upon 4 different universes: Sports, Education, Science and Technology, all devoted to the planet.

Everyone can join the project according to means and expectations, and all together with 4myplanet team, we will turn a dream “Participating in the Vendée Globe Challenge” into a useful experience, for all and for the planet.

Alexia, from the Mediterranean Sea, started sailing when she was 3.

Sailing teacher at 15, she worked in the sailing yachting industry as co-skipper or crew, while studying Sports Management at Nice University of Sports, UFR-STAPS.

She then became a professional sailor, and top-level match-racer, to finally get into single-handed offshore racing.

In 20 years, she has already covered more than 120 000 nautical miles around the globe, and took part in 14 races across the Atlantic, including 4 single-handed crossings on Mini Transat, Figaro 2, 60-foot monohull and multihull.

In 2009 she created 4myplanet, and thus became the first woman to attempt a single-handed around-the-globe tour for the benefit of science.

SportTake part in the Offshore RacIng World Championships. From 2018 to 2020 : 6 races, 4 Atlantic Crossings including 3 single-handed. Starting this very year with the Route du Rhum, departing from Saint Malo on November 4th, to reach French Guadeloupe sailing solo.

ScienceHelp science in observing and studying the marine environment to better understand it.It also implies collecting data and making them available in open access to the international scientific community, and deploy profilers in the oceans. Cooperation with the MARRES programme of the University Côte d’Azur.

TechnologyA 3-month round-the-globe tour in total autonomy, non-stop and without assistance, enables the development of sustainable, exemplary , and duplicable technology. A specific focus on renewable energies has been set with resource partners.

EducationSensitize public opinion, territorial communities, the private sector and civil society to the importance of water, seas and oceans preservation. Thousands of students from primary and secondary schools, have been involved in the project.
