INLINE-SYSTEM
Advantage of the INLINE-
SYSTEM: ideal for bed independent
digging. The chopped leaves are
spread between the rows. Because
of the suction wilted leaves are
also chopped. The large feeler
wheels compact the topped leaves
and enables blocking free and
exact scalping of the beets.
A powerful option for fields with much haulm: the
flail topper with cross conveyor (option)
Power: the powerful flails (l/h-side) convince
with its high suction. The L-shaped flails (option)
(r/h-side) ensure fine chopped leaves with
reduced fuel consumption.
What differentiates the MAXTRON 620
compared to other machines? Some major

Grimme INLINE-SYSTEM of the flail topper.
The chopped leaves are spread directly
between each row across the whole
machine width. This means: evenly spread
leaves without an expensive side discharge

Automatic pressure control
The electronic pressure control with
7 feeler wheels and pressure cylinder
ensures accurate cutting height of the
scalper independently from the working
position or height setting of the scalper
unit and therefore avoids sinking in wet
conditions. The independent guiding of
the scalper unit optimizes also on uneven
ground, the digging quality and reduces
the driver’s stress. The setting of the
pressure regulation is easy to adjust

The sideways movement of ± 40 mm
allows optimum alignment of the Oppel
wheels with uneven rows.
The adaptive hydraulically driven Oppel
wheels gently and actively lift the beet
and loose soil. Very flat digging is also
possible with this system compared
to traditional systems. Quick changing
is possible of the pressure protected
Oppel wheels. The facility to quickly
reverse the Oppel wheels makes it easy
to eliminate problems caused by foreign

Transport- and cleaning system
The new cleaning system of the
MAXTRON 620 is designed to give
maximum separation of the tops with
very gentle handling of the sugar beet
as well as making it easy for the driver.
16 individually configurable programmes
at the CLEAN-CONTROL automatically
control the degree of cleaning and ensure
that the crop is always handled gently.
Main and support web
Soil and small trash is separated from the
sugar beet on the 2.80 m wide main web.
Because of the loosening effect of the
adaptive speed Oppel wheels, a gentle
handling of the beet is ensured.
The infinite setting of the cleaning intensity
and transport speed enables an optimum
adoption to the weather and ground
conditions. The combination of the main
and support web increase the cleaning
effect by rotating the crop and also
guarantees very gentle cleaning.
Transport- and cleaning roller
13 cleaning rollers in one bank separate
soil, haulm and trash from the beet. Under
the use of modern technology: Each roller
is equipped with automatic reversing at
a preset and infinitely adjustable speed.
Various settings of the shaft drive to suit
different harvest conditions gives the ability
to clean the sugar beet as aggressively as
gentle as possible.
Some technical details: The cleaning roller
unit consists of alternate hardened steel
rollers and soft, flexible and abrasion-proof
polyurethane rollers. This combination
ensures that stones, soil and tops separated
from the crop do not become stuck
between a pair of hard rollers. Additionally
the complete roller unit is equipped with
automatic reversing at a preset pressure.
This works automatically during the digging
process to maintain crop without blockage.

Naturally the MAXTRON 620 has more
innovation after the cleaning system –
the transport system of the sugar beet
from front to end – well thought out for
gentle harvesting.
Bunker filling elevator
The sugar beet flows from the cleaning
rollers very gently onto the powerful filling
elevator. The filling elevator transfers the
crop directly into the innovative 22 tonne
bunker with a minimized drop height at
the delivery point.
This is also the result of modern
technology: The bunker-filling elevator
is equipped with automatic height
adjustment, which ensures that there is
always a minimum drop of the crop into
the bunker. Because of the innovative
construction with folding side panels the
natural cone effect of loading is used
to remove the need for augers to spread
the crop.

The Grimme bunker is unique, not only
because of its 33 m3 capacity, but also
that there are no changes in direction of
crop flow and therefore reduced damage.
The unloading of crop into a trailer while
digging is also possible.

Automatic, as requested – and without
cross flow direction: The moving floor
elevator transfers the crop directly onto
the unloading elevator.
Innovative bunker: The bunker
holds 22 tonnes …

of the high manoeuvrability of the
MAXTRON 620 (inner turning radius: 1 m),
less travelling over the headlands is
necessary and it is possible to dig in both
directions. This avoids numerous passes
over the ground and further reduces
soil compaction.

The driver of the MAXTRON 620 benefits
from perfect handling. – And the land from
maximised soil protection! An inner turning
radius of just 1 metre is a result of the
±70 degree angle of the steering head.
Multiple journeys over the field, especially
when opening, are not necessary anymore.
An even and positive drive additionally
protects the soil. Furthermore the drive
axles are equipped with anti-slipping-
control (ASC), which avoids an unnecessary
slipping of the rubber tracks and the
twin-wheels and improves stability on
slopes. Additionally the active rubber
track steering (± 4 degree) improves
the slope stability whilst the active
levelling adjustment (± 5 degree)
(option) enables a maximum stability
especially at hillsides. With the modern
electronically motor regulation controls
the MAXTRON 620 self-depending fuel
reduction with the automotive drive.
The electronics control, depending to
the machine load and continuously
adjust the motor speed. Under easy
conditions 1,350 rpm suffice to save
active fuel during digging. Also the
MAXTRON 620 has the official licence
to use RME-fuel.
The Grimme chassis concept gives
coverage over the full width of the machine
for minimum ground pressure all the time
and allows powerful digging even under
extremely wet conditions. This means for
every day use: higher efficiency of the
machine, reduced cost per hectare and
