QW-403.5 Welding procedure qualifications shall be made using:

(a) The same base metal (including type and grade) to be used in production welding; or 

(b) For ferrous material, a base metal listed in the same P-Number and Group Number (seeQW/QB-422) as the base metal to be used in production welding; or 

(c) For nonferrous material, a base metal listed in the same P-Number and Group Number(see QW/QB-422) as the base metal to be used in production welding.

For ferrous material in QW/QB-422, a procedure qualification shall be made for each P- Number and Group Number combination of base metals, even though procedure qualification tests
