This research study intended to find out the impact of Goin’ Bulilit TV Show on the

elementary students and what are the values that they can learn or adapt from watching

it.

The sample respondents are; 10 students from Grade 1; 10 students from Grade

2; 15 students from Grade 3; 20 students from Grade 4; 20 students from Grade 5; and

25 students from Grade 6 who are currently studying at New Era University located at

No. 9, Central Avenue, Quezon City.

The data gathered stated that majority of elementary students are watching Goin’

Bulilit every Sunday. Most of the elementary students agree that family bonding could

strengthen family relationships, like watching TV shows. Also, most of them can

become more respectful toward another family member and always thinking the others’

welfare before their own. But when it comes to their friends or peers, they tend to

become more disrespectful and worst, become a bully. Bullying is the world’s number

one problem of the students, whether in elementary or in high school. They also

become stubborn, absent-minded, always making excuses and selfish. These negative

attitudes are not that good for now, but with proper guidance and learning from their

parents and with the help of their teachers, these negative attitudes could be change to

something good. But not all the time negative attitudes could be attain when watching

Goin’ Bulilit. They can attain positive attitudes like being responsible, which is a very a

good quality for many students nowadays. Also, they could attain the attitudes like being

loving, kind, friendly and helpful. Watching television shows really the influenced the

behaviour of many children nowadays. Their attitudes are very much more different

today than to us adults because of how the technology in this era influenced them. It’s

like they are eager to grow up and become an adult already and do things that they

want.

The researchers majorly recommend this to the two important people: To the

Students and to the Parents. Students must choose what TV show he/she will watch, if

it’s not appropriate to him/her he/she must limit himself/herself in watching television.

Also, they need to be more responsible in watching television; and they need to be

responsible in their actions especially if their always imitate some scenes from the TV

show. Parents should be aware of what shows/programs their children’s’ watch. They

also need to guide and monitor their children in watching TV shows; watch together with

their children will be more helpful. The researchers recommend to parents that they

have the greatest responsibility in the welfare of their child, monitoring them or giving

them schedule in watching television is very helpful.
