CHECKLIST FOR EXHIBITIONS

What you must bring:

o All interest project work 

o All visual aids for all subjects and interest project

o Agendas

What you must do for your exhibition:

INTRODUCTION

o Introduce yourself 

o Welcome audience

o Pass out and review your agenda

To save on paper, you may write your agenda on the board, or on a poster big enough for theclass to follow.

Interest Project: (50 points)

o Learning Goal Project

o What was your driving question?

o Why did you choose it?o What did you learn about it?

Visual aids should be focused on this project

During your exhibition, you also need to talk about each of the following subjects: 

MATH: (you must do all of the following— Teacher will provide all problems on the day of your presentation): (10 points)

o Convert a given fraction to a decimal and percent (show your work)

o Show how to add and subtract positive and negative numbers.

o Find the volume of a given 3-Dimenstional object. Explain HOW you found the volume.

READING: (10 points)

Non-Read 180 Students: (you must do all of the following):o Create a cereal box for a book that you have read during the THIRD TRIMESTER . Your cereal box should

follow the following format

o The front of the box should have the title, author, genre and an illustration (that you create that matches

your book)

o One side should have the “ingredients” which are the characters and one sentence to describe each

character next to his/her name

o The other side should have a description of the price that comes inside of your cereal, which will be

something that you choose to represent your book.

o On the back of your box you should have

A short summary that you write

A recommendation

Read 180 Students: (you must do the following):

Complete a PowerPoint type presentation about the chapter “Food: The Good, The Bad, The

Ugly”

Include information in your PowerPoint about different foods eaten around the world.

WRITING: (you must do all of the following): (40 points)

o Summarize your mystery, do NOT read the entire story: Make sure you include the characters and their role, where

the story takes place, what the mystery is, and any clues or red herrings that were found. You must also make sure

that you include who solved the mystery and how.

o Share your 10 Things You Love project. Show your wiki page you made, which should include pictures and

hyperlinks. Summarize your ten things.

o Share 3 entries you made in “Curran-pedia.” Each should include a picture.

o Share your best Slice of Life story. This should be typed onto your wiki page. Having a picture would be nice!

SCIENCE: (you must answer the following question) (10 points)

o Jordan and Marta were helping their mother pull weeds in the garden, they noticed earthworms crawling

underneath the top layer of soil. Jordan suggested they try to get rid of all the worms because they were “yucky”and would ruin the garden. Marta insisted they were not “yucky” at all and should stay because they were goodfor the garden. Who is correct and why?

SOCIAL STUDIES: (10 points)

o Using a blank map of Michigan (this will be provided by the teacher and projected on the board) Identify and

locate the following on the map:

o The state capital

o 3 man made products and where they are made.

o 3 natural products and where they are found (grown, excavated).

o If you choose, you may discuss and show more places than these. You may discuss any other products and cities,

as well.

EXTRA CREDIT:Present what you learned this year during our “UPREP Goes Green” Project. This can include information aboutgarbage, landfills, recycling, composting or anything else you’ve learned. You can present this in the form of aposter (10 points), PowerPoint or some other electronic form (20 points), or simply by talking about what youlearned.

STUDENTS MUST USE VISUAL AIDS FOR  EACH PART OF THEIR PRESENTATIONS!!!

EXHIBITIONS MUST BE REHEARSED EXTENSIVELY AHEAD OF TIME!!!!!!!

******* IMPORTANT NOTE*******

Students are required to fulfill each part of this checklist for their exhibitions. Students MAY,however, come see their teachers if they have an idea for presenting something other than what is

listed above. A change from this checklist MUST be approved by the teacher well in advance of 

exhibitions.

Students must receive at least 80% on their presentations to pass. If they don’t pass, they will be

required to redo their presentations within one week with or without their parents being present.
